Soocial Deletes All Contacts in Mac Address Book; Creates Duplicates on the Site and in Gmail
I have Soocial syncing contact data between my MacBook (10.4.11 Tiger), Gmail, and the Soocial site. As far as I can recall, I haven't had any problems until today when Soocial deleted all of my Mac's contacts. I used a backup file and resynced manually. When I went to the Soocial and Gmail sites, and saw that it had duplicated every contact. I may have created the latter part of this problem, but the preference pane said that no files were created or deleted during the manual sync. Thanks in advanced!
EDIT: I should also add that I have not upgraded my Gmail connection, as I was not aware of it until I searched the Soocial site for information relating to this problem. Would that have anything to do with this?

I'm not positive, but I may have been experiencing these Gmail duplicates prior to these issues that I just experienced and dealt with. Guess I'm just going to have to manually merge them. Is there any way I could prevent that from happening in the future? -

I would really like to look at your logs to see where the deletion was initiated. Might be a good explanation for this behavior. I can imagine it freaked you out though.

Inappropriate?After merging Google contacts, Soocial keeps alternating between adding and deleting two contacts in my Mac Address Book every 30 minutes or so (can't identify which, I just keep getting the notification). Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advanced!

Inappropriate?Just happened to me. Has been syncing fine for months, then today it basically deleted all 94 contacts from my Mac Address Book and now Soocial thinks it's synced.

Sorry for the hassle. We do see an error occuring, we have to look in to it to see what causes it.
What you need to do to prevent from duplicates to come when this happens is:
-Remove the OSX connection from the www.soocial.com/connections page. This will bring them both back in to sync. -
Inappropriate?My Soocial contacts just went from 45 to 4 (reflected in the Soocial site, Gmail's "My Contacts" list and my Mac's Address Book). Should I do anything or should I just let you guys solve the problem?

We actually received a delete for those contacts on 05 Jun 2009, 19:31:12 UTC did you try to fix something on your OSX Address Book then? We would be able to do a restore of those contacts if needed.

I don't think I did anything on that particular day. A little after the time I first noticed this bug I tried removing and re-adding my Mac connection. I also sync with a cellphone on a weekly basis (via my Mac's built in tool).

Were there 45 contacts prior to the deletion? If so, you can restore them.

I am new to Soocial. And may be I did something wrong, all my Apple Address Book contacts have been deleted (including the synced ones on Soocial). Is there any way that I can get them back? I have been saving them for quite some time now. Plus, I have been stupid enough not to make a backup. Please restore the contacts (around 59 I guess).

Hey Rohit, No worries. We still do have your contacts. Seems like you deleted them in Gmail. The are restored now. The next sync will bring them back to your Address Books

Inappropriate?Although this problem has been marked as solved, I am still not seeing any more 4 out of my ~45 contacts in soocial.com, my Mac Address Book, and in Gmail. Also, Soocial continues to delete and re-add two contacts every sync. Are you sure the problem is resolved on your end and if so, would this be the time to remove/reactivate the connection to my MacBook and load up my backup?

Sorry dude, you fell completely through the cracks. Your contacts are back in Soocial now and should be brought back to your machine by a sync.

Thanks. My contacts seem to be restored, but it continues to delete or re-add two contacts to/from my MacBook every sync. I think I've been able to identify them and they seem fine in the Soocial site and in Google's contact manager.
