Sorting of international characters

My contacts with scandinavian characters are sorted only half-right. The contacts starting with 'å' are listed under the 'A' heading in the contact list, but at the end of all the 'A' contacts. The characters 'å','ä' and 'ö' should be sorted after 'z'. I assume the problem is similar for other languages with special characters?
