Standardise display names
It would be great to be able to standardise the display names (e.g. name order) for contacts in various contacts. During the syncing processes over the last few months, I have ended up with all different kinds of orders (for me primarily an issue with Google Contacts).
Is it possible to have the Soocial sync, standardise/normalise the display name (yet, keeping the structured name data intact of course)?
Actually, If possible, the same could be useful for display (unstructured) addresses in Google Contacts. But, the problem is most obvious with names, as the sorting is messed up when surnames and given names are listed first or second with some randomness.

Inappropriate?Hey there!
Our current behaviour is to keep what the client sends to us. Outlook (and Pocket Outlook) will usually send us contacts with a "Formatted Name" with the reversed name order ("Family name", "Given name") but editing a contact in Soocial will always regenerate the formatted name of the vCard.
As far as Google goes, up until a few days ago we were sending them the "formatted name" but now we're just using their structured data API and sending them the different parts of the name (and the same goes for addresses). The major problem is that they haven't updated their interface to work with the structured data they're storing in their backend. However, they have said they're working on that and that there should be an update in the coming weeks. -
Inappropriate?Good to know. Still, it would be useful if Soocial could (optionally) normalise the formatting of things like names, addresses, etc., when possible. The reason for this being that new entries may "come in" from different connections/sources, and thus have different formats, and it would be nice if they are "cleaned". Even in the Soocial web interface I have three different formats on names in the list:
1. [given name] [surname]
2. [surname], [given name]
3. [surname] [given name]

Inappropriate?Actually, coming to think of it. The thinking of normalised formatting could also be used for phone numbers (depending on country) and possibly email addresses (lower-casing them).
I’m excited

Inappropriate?I agree, all of these are good ideas and are an important part of what "cleaning" an address book is.
