Syncing Address Book contacts with Highrise using a dedicated group
What about doing a nice trick like syncing with Highrise all contacts in Apple Address Book that belong to a defined group like "Highrise"?

Hi Louis,
We are actually working hard on fixing this problem elegantly for all connections not just Highrise. We will be using groups as tags that can be filtered per connection (including Highrise). So that means that contacts you create in Highrise will automatically be added to a Highrise group in your OSX Address Book and for example in GMail in the "Highrise" group as well.
Nifty huh? ETA is unknown but we are working very hard to give you extra organizational features to have more control over what contacts will be synced where and how they are presented.

Inappropriate? Not sure I understand how this is working. I've synced all my Highrise contacts to Soocial, now I want to get them on my Address Book. What do I do to do that?
I’m confused
-
Evbart - to do that you need to have both Highrise and your Mac setup to sync. Then your contacts from Highrise will be synced to your Mac and be placed in the groups 'work'. Hope that helps you. -
Inappropriate?I have the Highrise Sync as well as Mac setup to sync using a group called work and I haven't had any changes sync. Specially, when I add a contact on either the mac or highrise they don't get added to the other. It seems to pick changes in an existing contact fine though. Any thoughts or advice? It seems that it's really not working at all but I'd love to get it working.
I’m perplexed for an engineering type

Inappropriate?Shrink,
I just tried this out myself. And it worked fine. So, wonder what's going wrong.
Do you realize that Highrise does not sync on every change? What contact did you make in Highrise that did not make in in to the Address Book in the Work group? Anybody here. if you can give me as many details as possible including your username to bartat Soocial.com I can see what is going wrong. -
Inappropriate?Quick question -- I'm hesitating to add Highrise as a sync connection on Soocial as I'm worried all contacts that have been synched from my mac will end up in Highrise. Is this going to happen? I already have some contacts in Highrise. From the thread it looks like the sync may be more one-way and I just need to manage a group in Address Book. But, I don't fancy cleaning 2000 contact entries out of Highrise if I'm wrong. Thanks

Inappropriate?Hey pauln,
Only contacts that are in the"work" group will make it to highrise. No others. -
Inappropriate?perfect -- thank you Bart.

If the sync is working right within a few minutes. (We are having some issues with Highrise right now.)
