The Facebook app just shows a blank screen...?
When I click into the facebook application (I've already added it) I get a blank screen. This is my first post and I am a new beta user, so I hope I am helping by reporting this... either to get my side resolved, or to alert you to a problem.

Inappropriate?Hi Rob thanks for reporting - it really does help us.
As for our Facebook app - it really is a lame app. We haven't worked on it for a while and really want to put our energy into things that people really want - the feedback about the Facebook possibilities haven't been that overwhelming to be honest.
So we have silently been thinking we'll retract the Facebook app untill we do it right and actually sync with your Facebook contacts - something that is only possible in a very limited way.
Hope that answers your questions and lifts some uncertainty about our Facebook app.
I’m sad we're dropping Facebook for now

Inappropriate? Thanks for the reply. I like to think of myself as a computer geek, but truthfully I'm really not one of those people that comprehends the full fanbulousness of Facebook anyway. I mean I use it, and I put in status updates anyway, but other than that, I'm not sure why people would email me there who have my real email address, you know? And then of course do I care about having the class of 1987 in my gmail contacts? Uh, probably not. But I'm down for trying everything, so I tried it. I'll try just about anything. :) Thanks again for the reply!
I’m pretty sure facebook is sorta silly anyway.

Exactly our thoughts on syncing with Facebook.
I’m happy to drop Facebook too...

Please understand the irony in my happy/sad statusses. ;-) -
Inappropriate? The Facebook app was actually how I found out about Soocial - searched for contact management apps. I have much more than the class of '87 on Facebook, and am dying for a way to link Facebook accounts with the rest of my contact lists.
I understand as a Facebook developer that the amount of contact info accessible to an application automatically is limited, but even if there was a way to say "this Facebook profile goes with this contact," that'd be better than nothing. I do hope y'all can get a Facebook app working well, and personally I'm really disappointed to find this thread.
I’m a disappointed Facebook user...

Inappropriate?Facebook is a very, very helpful collection of data. Being able to have my Friends' numbers & e-mails auto-added to my mac address book & phone would be extremely helpful.
I agree, i would not want ALL of my "friends" added to my address book, but if facebooks new "friend lists" feature was utilized so that you could select who you wanted it would be amazing!
I’m disappointed - taking info from facebook would save hours of manual input
-
I agree. It would be great if soocial could get information from facebook (birthday, e-mail, phone, address) to update my contacts. -
Inappropriate?hey Mark,
I'm sorry but Facebook owns your data. You can't sync e-mail addresses and cell numbers outside of Facebook, even with their so-called 'open' Facebook Connect.
I’m hoping Facebook will change their user unfriendly policies soon
-
ouch, you're probably right, their policy is quite unfriendly... -
Inappropriate?Hrm, that really is too unfortunate.
Thanks, I probably should have read their TOS.
Oh well...
Does Soocial plan on syncing with any other social networking sites? -
Inappropriate? Our priorities at the moment will be focused on connecting with webmail services first (Yahoo Mail, Hotmail/Windows Live). LinkedIn, Xing etc are alos important to us. Social networks make less sense, but when they open up and make two-way syncs possible syncing with these networks become very interesting of course.
In the end we aim to sync with all the apps where you have your contacts.
I’m excited about the one address book concept
-
LinkedIn would be great too! -
Inappropriate?@Daniel: It's true that Facebook doesn't let much data out, but there's so much you could do with Facebook. You could let people link their friends' Facebook profiles with the contacts they've created in Soocial. You could even build an app where other Soocial users can claim a Facebook profile, and sync data via Soocial instead of through Facebook.
I’m hoping Facebook changes but also wishing more was done in the mean time
-
Inappropriate?hey Joey,
funny we were just talking the other day about the exact same thing. We'll be discussing it further and see where it takes us :)
I’m happy we're flexible to implement cool stuff on the fly

Inappropriate?Hi,
Just wanted to add my vote to support of LinkedIn and Facebook. Support of Outlook is necessary in the short-term but I would beg that you make integration with these two services the highest priority afterward because they are updated frequently [by friends and business contact] which massively simplifies life. The ability to select the contacts from LinkedIn, Hotmail, Gmail, Facebook, etc., I'd want included in my master list would negate the "class of '87" issue too. I definitely understand the road-block regarding Facebook not sharing it's data - perhaps this is something Soocial users can petition Facebook for? I hope Flock also provides integration for Soocial eventually too.
This is an incredible tool guys!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Within their terms of use, Facebook is only really useful for contact photos as I understand it... and anyway, as a one-off exercise you can use FoneBook or another such app to pull them into Outlook, then sync with Soocial I guess. IMHO it sounds like you've got your priorities/ roadmap right - this is definitely a "nice to have".
I’m not really that bothered about Facebook sync.
-
Inappropriate?I think it would be very helpful to add a facebook app that functions smoothly. I agree that it should be a lesser priority, but being able to gather contact info for the friends you do want to keep in touch with would be a great benefit.
I’m confident
