Why won't my highrise and gmail account sync?
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Sometimes the sync with GMail and Highrise will take a while to sync. Because of the influx of users our syncing bots have been taking longer than usual. Normally a sync to GMail or Highrise should take about 5 minutes, however currently it can take up to a few hours to sync.
We are aware of this problem and are looking to scale our sync bots so that we can handle the thousands of users currently syncing with GMail and Highrise. The idea is that syncing to GMail and Highrise will be instant and that getting changes from GMail and Highrise will be every hour.
Please bare with us as we improve our syncing speed and reduce the time a sync operation is in our syncing queue.

Hi Mark, you shouldn't have to resubmit - the bots automatically should be getting and pushing your changes. Let me have a look in the logs to see what is happening. Can you email your username to support@soocial.com. Thanks for your patience and willingness to help us out in finding the lag. -

There was an issue with the Highrise connection which affected both of you. It's been fixed and both your connections have synced today.

I looked in on Highrise and didn't see a sync. Checked back on Soocial and noticed that "sync this engine" checkbox had been deselected, so I checked the box, and saved. Am I correct that it had been deselected in error, that it must be check for the engine to work? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?I'm going on a week and a half with no syncing to gmail. My mac agent didn't sync when I asked it to either.
Am I in some edge group that the bots don't like? :-) -
Inappropriate?Still no sync. Do contacts in the address book need to be tagged a certain way to move over to highrise? Do I just need to wait a little longer?

our GMail and Highrise bot have been acting up and are overlooking some users. We'll fix this asap.
I’m determined to fix the amnesia these bots seems to have now and then.

Just to answer your question, yes Highrise contacts need to be in the "Work" group in the OS X Address book.
If you're using the Soocial webapp you can check the "work" checkbox when you're editing the contact.
