Force endless scrolling
Endless scrolling is nice but a little buggy. Sometimes the page doesnt fetch new content and I get stalled. A little button/link at the bottom that would fetch the next slice of content would do the trick ;)

Inappropriate?I've noticed such problems with video embeds especially: When you start playing a video, but then pause it or just scroll down past it, the next endless scrolling request stalls for a while.
In these cases a link wouldn't help, because the browser actually already made the next request for endless scrolling, it just isn't processed.
This might be a browser-specific problem: Maybe Firefox has a limit for the number of open HTTP requests it processes for a single page at a time...
We've been meaning to put video embeds in (invisible) iframes for security reasons for a while now, which might also solve this problem -- more testing is needed.
Can you confirm:
* that you're using Firefox
* that it occurs when embeds are still loading? -
Inappropriate?I see.. can't you just cancel the unprocessed request giving it room for the new one? Somehow that doesn't make much sense because the endless-scroll "GET" request was already closed right? So a new one shouldn't be a problem. Am I saying something stupid?
HTTP 1.1 standard does indeed have a limitation on the number of simultaneous connections one is capable of doing to the same server (domain). But I don't think that's the issue here.
I must say I didn't test it. But I can do it later in the afternoon.
And yes. I do confirm that.
