Make sure you're logged in on the front page, then go to their Soups and look for a button with a heart icon in the bottom right corner (might only appear after a short delay).
I guess we should add functionality to the friends list to add people manually by name, or at least an explanation how it works – thanks for the feedback!

Make sure that you're logged in, as the "heart" button will only appear for logged in users. If the button still isn't there please report so that we can investigate further. -
Inappropriate?Ok, found the problem, it was conflicting with AdBlock for Firefox.
I've also discovered that it's possible to add friend on www.soup.io when you're logged, a small '+' sign appears near your stalkers :)
