Inappropriate?I was about to suggest setting the <image> element of the <channel> which we then could have parsed and used as the favicon, but after playing around I can't find any way of specifying that in Yahoo Pipes.
A very hackish solution would be to put an image tag in the feed's <description> (which you can edit in Yahoo Pipes' feed settings)... but I'm not even sure HTML is allowed there.
But I thought of something else: In the next update (later this week), posts imported from custom RSS feeds will have the feeds' domain name as a CSS class, only with hyphens instead of dots, ie "pipes-yahoo-com".
Then you should be able to change the icon in CSS by setting the existing image to "visibility:hidden" and putting a background image on the parent element. Still a hack, but at least possible.
Would that work for you?

I'm a bit of a novice here, but I also want to remove the Pipes favicon and link to the pipe in the blog name in the feed (i'm funneling the pipe into Feedburner, and want any feed links to connect with that) -- help (and speak sloooowly)? :) -
Can you give me your Soup URL so I can look at it directly? -
Inappropriate? These extra domain name CSS classes for custom RSS imports ("pipes-yahoo-com") are now online.

Inappropriate?I meant to respond to this -- that's great, thanks very much!
I’m pleased with this, and life, too.
