Removal of image and email addresses
I can't remove a few things such as my last remaining picture and the email addresses i have. Even though the email addresses are not shown, i still want to remove them from your system. Also, even though i have changed the votes on a lot of information on my page to no and reported them all, the information remains. If there is a delay that does occur, you should mention it in the help section on your site. -

Get my personal info off your stupid site - like NOW Last reply on July 01, 2008 23:32.
This is the stupidest thing ever! If info on personal networking site is set to private, then there is a reason for it. No search engine finds anything about my Myspace profile - only this SPOCK s*hit does. Stop invading people's privacy, this is not what we need on the ned. If I WANT to be found by a people search engine, I'd register there. Full stop. So for all I care provide your "service" to people who want it, but not to people who only get pissed off noticing private information of them is displayed publicly and even scores higher in google search than their own website! And to your excuse that your system automatically crawls this info and you cannot do anything about it: what a pile of bullshit! How about a) producing a system that you actually can control, or b) disappear from the face of the internet. I bet thousands of people would be happy then - which you should be able to guess if you'd actually read the feedback that is given here. Have you by any chance noticed that almost every entry is about having info removed? I did not ask for your stupid site, I do not want nor need it and the least you can do is to remove info from people who want it removed. If you can't handle this - get another job!! -

No longer have a Friendster account but I'm still on your site! Last reply on May 21, 2008 00:23.
I have not had a Friendster account since January but my info still shows up on your website. How do I remove this? You tell me to remove public info from Friendster but I don't even have an account!

Missing features on Spock? Last reply on June 24, 2008 23:39.
Is it just me, or has a lot of the information / featuress previously available on Spock disappeared lately?
I'm referring specifically to:
* Spock Power
* Spock Leaderboard (the actual page still exists, but the link seems to have disappeared)
* Inviting trust (now seems to be replaced simply by 'Save')
* Most importantly - how does one send a message to other Spock users? This used to be a feature

Need to get every bit of personal information off of this website NOW
I want every single piece of information about me on this site removed. Any information on here can potentially harm my employment prospects in the next few months and this is a serious problem. My profile is **private** on any social networking sites I am a member of however some information still appears. Please advise. I went through and flagged and voted off a few things but some information still appears. What do I do? Mainly, I want to get rid of any pictures that appear, any links to social networking sites (linkedin and myspace appear on there), and any friends or related people.
Also, my name does not appear on Spock when I search myself on google but I appear as someone else's friend and that allows google users to click to my information. It's unreasonable to expect us to contact every one of our friends to ensure their social networking accounts are private!! Please help me clear up all of my information!! -

Fix Spocks Invasion of Privacy Problems
How do you justify posting profiles of people using information from from social networking accounts that have been shut down? As a victim of this, how do you intend to fix this problem? -

How do I delete a website from my page? Last reply on June 13, 2008 00:37.
I thought you had a pretty cool site, but somehow a robot--Spock Address Book Import Robot-- added a website to my page that I DO NOT WANT LINKED TO MY NAME.
I was very careful about that, even set up a separate e-mail account for it and everything, and now it's linked to my name right on my page. I am INCREDIBLY unhappy with this. I'm fuming. I tried to play nice with you guys, set up an account and even added some links myself, but this is not appreciated.
I voted "not relevant" but the link is still there. I would like to know how remove it. -

Unable to remove Live Search results Last reply on June 13, 2008 00:25.
Live search. The problem is, that I have a pretty common name (apparently) and the search results are almost always incorrect. This wouldn't be so frustrating if I were able to remove them, however I am not. I have flagged the search results several times and they have been reset each time. I then vote them down again but they are not being deleted/removed from my profile.
Personally I would like to have the ability to turn off the additional live search function for my profile.

I hate data harvesting, and I refuse to use your service. Last reply on June 12, 2008 23:50.
How are you working to make sure that I own my data and I can control which paths it moves along?
(between me to you to other users, to companies, to government agencies, creepily etc.)
There are a lot of services out there asking me to get involved and share with users inside their gated community (facebook, twitter, gmail, myspace, spock etc.), but there still isn't a way for me to retain control of and manage that data.
My suggestion is to create a service that acts a Information Banking Institution. It will broker all my interactions with every service on the web. Kind of like Zone Alarm for the web. If anyone has a better analogy, please let me know.
Thanks for ridin wit meh on this.

More gender diversity please Last reply on June 11, 2008 08:12.
The sign up form only allows a choice of two genders, and forces you to choose male or female. For anyone between or outside these genders (transgendered people etc.), this is likely to be offensive. There should be the option of an input box at least. See my blog post on this issue:
http://bethgranter.wordpress.com/2008...
I know you can remove your gender settings later on in profile settings, but sign-up shouldn't demand a choice between male or female, and the profile settings should allow an input box for a variety of genders. Check what Pownce do for a good/amusing example. -

Ethical Use of Unclaimed Search Results Last reply on June 03, 2008 06:02.
Is it okay to add content to or claim a relationship with an unclaimed search result? I am being told this is spam when I thought I was helping to add good search content. Should unclaimed search results be treated differently than claimed search results? -

Those people already Spock members (including myself) still can be invited? Last reply on May 19, 2008 21:21.
I was recently inviting people from my Google Address-Book, and few of those people told me they are already on Spock, with the same e-mail, and we are already connected!
I maybe didn't check carefully who did I invite, since it was a list of my good friends, but I was sure Spock will check and NOT invite those already Members and my trusted contacts.
so I tried it over myself- just added to a list of contacts my own e-mail address, and invited that my Google Contact (myself) to Spock. So what? I've got an invite to e-mail, and the text was that me is inviting me. I came back to my profile to check e-mail list- and yes, my mail was there of course.
So I think there is a bug on Spock and believe me people are not happy to be invited few more times by the same contacts, when they are already Spock Members.

Is Spock address book import retrieving anything other than email addresses? Does it share such info with 3rd parties? ... The privacy policy seems to be saying `Yes` Last reply on April 30, 2008 21:29.
It seems that your private policy says so.
(quoting from privacy policy)
... so Spock can retrieve information in their address book, including but not limited to each of their contact's (each a "Contact") email addresses and other information.... we do not sell, rent, or lease email addresses that we obtain from address book import to third parties.
(end of quote)
I think I can read this privacy policy like this. "Spock can retrieve your contact information and other information (such as physical address, date of birth, company name, etc), and although we don't rent/sell/lease email addresses, we may rent/sell/lease other information".... or. "we don't rent/sell/lease but may share it with third parties"
Would you please clearify? I imported my addressbook and I don't want to breach my friends' privacy... If Spock takes any other information than email addresses and use it for any purposes/share it with third parties, I would like to know so that I can inform my friends. -

Add Email Addresses
There are some users who are in Spock, but do not come up on a search for their email address. I know their email address, it might be useful to be able to add one to them for searching purposes.
