Inappropriate?I already did. Unfortunately LinkedIn will ignore all deletion requests. I have left the rest of the services that allowed me to delete my account.
How about just deleting my account? Thats what the customer wants. I'd rather not have a stalkerish aggregation of content about me that is not on my own terms.
I’m still pissed and not satisfied.

Inappropriate?I'm just going to reply again to keep this up at the top of the getsatisfaction homepage.
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?Newsflash spock: my Linkedin profile is no longer public and hasn't been for months. In fact I just did a search for my name and "linkedin" on Google and guess what the top result is: SPOCK.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?I do not know if this is the place, but I have been trying to add my Yahoo contacts, I have like 1400, for the last 2 months. Every time, no matter what PC I use, or where I am, or what time, it times out and says there is an error. Am I the only one that gets that? It worked for my other emails, but I have like 5 contacts elsewhere....
-
Inappropriate?russ: Are you trying to add your Yahoo contacts to Spock?
-
Inappropriate?I am, and that is when it poops out. It works for everything else fine. the problem is all my contacts are in Yahoo

Inappropriate?spock sucks! I been trying to delete my account for the past month and still find my information when i search my name on google. I placed all my social accounts as private, and some how spock still have my old friendster information up. I been flagging for deletion of my account and it still has not happened. Do I need to contact BBB for some real action?
I’m f'ing pissed

Inappropriate?Dear SpockBlows,
If you'd like to be removed from Spock, my suggestion is to check out our HELP PAGE (located on the bottom right of the screen) and filling out a removal request form. It should take about a week for your result to be fully removed -
Inappropriate?Yeah, this site's going down for sure...They claim to be doing things right, but anytime you see information which includes links to doing background checks and hidden profiles, you know this site is malicious. I've got an unwanted profile on this b/s site as well. If they don't remove it, I'm suing for defamation. Should be pretty easy to prove in today's economy.
My suggestion is don't accept any of their opt-in terms to their b/s site, because there's probably some language which may hold up in court if you opt-in that prevents you from legally suing. Request removal and if they don't get back to you, then sue.
I’m frustrated

To remove yourself from Spock please see the Spock Help Page -
Inappropriate? So just looking at this realistically - I can either send you an information removal request, which may or may not be successful based on the fact that I haven't received any sort of confirmation e-mail about my request in removing information regarding a myspace profile that was deleted a year ago. Or I can pay a fee to join your "service" and flag or vote down the information and that will remove it immediately? I absolutely believe that this is bordering on blackmail but I'm seeking new employment and can't risk having this personal content made public through a simple search - and if it means I need to bend to the will of this absurd website then so be it. I think its people exactly like me that you're looking to prey on, but if you can guarantee that flagging it and voting it down will remove it then I guess that's my only option. I'd really like to know if anyone has any personal experience with getting their personal information removed through either method.
I’m amazed that this has been allowed to go on as long as it has.

Hi William - Assuming you've filled out the removal request correctly (ie. included your correct Spock Search Result URL) - as stated on the help page it will take about 7 days for you to be full removed. You can check to see if it's still there by searching for it. You'll receive an error message when you click on the link if it has been removed. -
I have filled out a removal request form. I filled it out before posting in this forum. All I can do is assume I filled out the removal request correctly considering I didn't get any sort of confirmation e-mail stating as much. At this point I'm looking for anyone who can share in having a similar experience with spock and successfully had their information removed because so far I've failed to have mine removed or to locate anyone who has, and if that leaves me forced to shell out 30 bucks for you're ridiculous service so I can remove the information myself then so be it. And even then no one can tell me with 100% confidence that I'll be able to remove anything, I've only seen phrases like "vote down" and "flagging" which feels cryptic. -
William please e-mail info@corp.spock.com and I'll look into the issue right now -
Inappropriate?Hey William,
I had a similar experience, and agree whole-heartedly, that this Spock website is a sham and is criminal.
It's the equivalent of you having your paper on the school bulletin board, then choosing to take it down, and the school bully runs by grabs it from your hands, playing keep-away with it above your head, and reading it to the world. The only way for you to get your information back, is to do whatever the bully says to do.
If they had any sense at all, they would know that making a buck in the short term, in this way, will prevent them from making any money in the future. These short-sighted people may make millions from your information, but they're dumb enough that they'll probably just buy jet-skis and ferraris and waste it all away, ending up with nothing in the long run.
If they were smart, they would allow people to 1) opt-in to having their information on the site, and 2) make it easy for people to permanently remove their information.
I’m angry

Inappropriate? This is the last time I'm going to respond to this:
TO REMOVE A SEARCH RESULT GO TO THE SPOCK HELP PAGE AND FILL OUT A REMOVAL REQUEST FORM - http://www.spock.com/do/pages/help#re... -
Inappropriate? The point is, you shouldn't have to fill out a goddamned FORM to have your information removed. A person's personal information shouldn't be anywhere except where a person has explicitly given permission for it to be.
I’m infuriated.
-
Inappropriate? My information is still up, even after recieving an e-mail from spock's customer support informing me that I had entered the URL to my information correctly. So what to do now? Do I need to fill out another removal request?
I’m not surprised to be back here.
-
Inappropriate?Hey William, please keep us posted on your status. I'm going through the same exact thing and just submitted a removal request form and want to know if Spock really sticks to their promises.
I’m slightly worried...
-
Inappropriate?I have submitted multiple requests to have my information removed from Spock- information that had been made private many months, if not years, before it started popping up in a google search of my name. Despite my repeated requests, a tag line still appears in google linking to spock's website. Though when you click on the link there is a message saying no person is found. This is problematic for a number of reasons. First of all, I gave no such permission to be affiliated with this website and do not appreciate that my name is being used to promote traffic to this site. What's more I have an unusual name, so there's no denying that it's me. This is especially troubling as I was out of work for sometime and was concerned that prospective employers would see this FIRST when doing a search of my name. To date, there is still a link that follows this convention: http://www.spock.com/"Insert My Name Here"-Ke2a12x. This is completely deceitful!!! I am angered beyond words.
I’m furious and wish I could post private information about the founders of spock on my own website.

Inappropriate?Everyone, start filing small claims lawsuits for defamation of character and blackmail. You dont even need to know what you are doing. Just go to the courthouse, get the "small claims" forms and have them served on the company.
If they start getting a huge amount of lawsuits, they will be forced to revise their policies. I will send mine out tomorrow.
