Is Spock address book import retrieving anything other than email addresses? Does it share such info with 3rd parties? ... The privacy policy seems to be saying `Yes`
It seems that your private policy says so.
(quoting from privacy policy)
... so Spock can retrieve information in their address book, including but not limited to each of their contact's (each a "Contact") email addresses and other information.... we do not sell, rent, or lease email addresses that we obtain from address book import to third parties.
(end of quote)
I think I can read this privacy policy like this. "Spock can retrieve your contact information and other information (such as physical address, date of birth, company name, etc), and although we don't rent/sell/lease email addresses, we may rent/sell/lease other information".... or. "we don't rent/sell/lease but may share it with third parties"
Would you please clearify? I imported my addressbook and I don't want to breach my friends' privacy... If Spock takes any other information than email addresses and use it for any purposes/share it with third parties, I would like to know so that I can inform my friends.

Inappropriate?Importing your address book often makes people nervous. To alleviate this Spock lets you know 1) which of your contacts are on Spock and are current users 2) which of your contacts are on Spock but have not claimed their search result 3) which of your contacts are not on Spock. After that you have to option to invite all, some, or none of your contacts onto Spock.
As a company policy we don't display or store any phone numbers (unless added by the user, such as in the case of owning a business), addresses, SSN, etc. We also don't sell any of our information to third parties.
If you are still anxious about importing your address book you can e-mail info@corp.spock.com with additional questions. -
Inappropriate?I uploaded my address book with no problems at all. I think the other information the site retrieves is the name associated with the email, which would make sense if they are sending that person an invite. There are multiple steps for address book importing so you can go through a few steps before actually sending the emails.
