Can I specify a custom link for my event page?
Have you ever wanted to send a user to your event page rather than ours? Well, we have listened to your feedback and will release this functionality at the end of February.
This feature will specifically enable you to change the event page to one of your choosing. This link will propagate through the calendar and widget applications. -

How do I keep my events in two separate widgets? Last reply on June 05, 2008 20:37.
Can a person have an events scrolling widget on their site and then bellow that have a separate calendar widget? Do I just plug in my two different html codes?
How will Spongecell keep the two modules with different events separate? My account is resisted under my work email, so do I need to register a new email for the second widget? The events I uploaded currently need to be in the calendar, and then I have others I want to place in the scroll widget. I'm confused on how to keep each from mushing together. -

Why can't I see all my events in my widget? Last reply on June 05, 2008 17:46.
I created an events listing widget, but it only displays about 15 of my events (I entered 51 total). Can I alter something to include all 51 in my scroll? -

How do I add a page from my web site to my event calendar Last reply on May 19, 2008 20:04.
I created my web page using Yahoo Sitebuilder. I don't know how to write html so I hope I'm asking this right. I put an events calendar on my web page and am trying to figure how to attach another page from my website so it will open when you click on a date. Can I do this and if so how. The event is a hill climb and I want to attach the rules. Thanks in advance -

Global settings? Last reply on May 09, 2008 18:38.
Is there a way to create a set of global settings/defaults for Spongecell -- i.e, a way for the form to auto-populate with the address of our church for every event unless I change it to something else? (Most of our events are held at the same address.)
Also, is there a way to edit the event page settings for ALL the pages at once? (Some kind of global settings that will affect all pages - if I decide to change the color and don't want to have to go through and change each individual event page?) -

Tagging events?
Events can be tagged for tracking interactions of users and for API calls.
Add tags to your event when you first create it. Then, contacts that add themselves to your contact list while interacting with that event are automatically tagged with those tags.
Finally, when you send an email or SMS message to follow up on the event, you can easily reach the people who are most interested in that event.
Here is how you do it!
1. When you create an event, specify one of more tags.

2. Then, users view your event through one of our widgets, and decide to add themselves to your contact list.

3.If you view the new contact (in the Contacts tab), you will see that they have an 'auto tag' that matches the one you originally set on the event.

4. Then, when you send an email or SMS message, you can filter to send only to contacts tagged with that tag!

Here is what you need to do to make sure that the CSV file you upload includes all the zip codes, including those starting with "0".
1. Select the column "Zipcode" in Excel

Whats the difference between "Classic" and "Promote"?
Classic Calendar -
The classic calendar was the first product that Spongecell produced. Classic is a dynamic web 2.0 calendar mainly created for personal use.
Promote-
Promote lets you create and promote events easily across websites, email/SMS, blogs and social networks. You can also collect detailed information on how people interact with your events and how they spread virally. Spongecell lets you use this data to more effectively create and promote future events, and to follow-up with targeted messaging that enables you to do scalable, one-to-one marketing. -

Published calendar events not showing up?
You have signed up, added events to your calendar and published the calendar to your website or blog. However you cannot see any of your events...Where did they go?
Have no fear...
By default the Sponge doesn't think its a good idea to share your personal calendar and events with the world, thats why by default we keep your events private.
To share selected events on your published calendars, open the event detail and set the "Viewable by" field to "Everyone (the World). -

What is a tag?
Spongecell uses tags in various ways.
-Contacts-
Use a tag - or - simple word to describe your contacts.
For example, if you promote to two groups of contacts, "Shakira" fans, and "Aerosmith" fans, then upload the contacts in two CSV files. When uploading the first file enter the tag "Shakira", and when uploading the second file, enter the tag "Aerosmith".
When you send emails and SMSes, the tags will allow you to target one group or the other.
Tags are useful at organizing many different lists and groups of contacts.
