Can I disable the email a friend option on the Calendar?
We are highly considering using your promote calendar for our Corporate site to publish Motorsports events. We have found one thing we feel is a vulnerability, and that is the email a friend feature. We would be afraid that a hacker could blast out 1000's of email that say they are from us that could have profanity, pornography, and number of things that would look horrible for our company.
So the question is, is there a way to disable this feature? Or.....is there something in place to keep hackers from blasting out emails from a published calendar on our website? Most likely for us to use it, this feature would have to be disabled.
Thanks,
Kris

Inappropriate?Hi Kris,
Clicking the email friend link from the calendar will take you to the spongecell event page (just like all other links on the calendar). Then, a user has the option to "invite friends" - and it is here where the component and associated controls are available.
You as the promote admin can turn off the global "event actions," although, at the moment, this include the add to calendar, and set reminder functions too.
To note, we have yet to have received a report of abuse for our invite friends function, although we understand your concern and have this requested feature slated for future a future release. -
Inappropriate? When I click on "Email friend" on the calendar, it pops up a form that allows me to email a friend, it doesn't take me to the event page.
Either way, could you please let me know where I can find the global "event actions", I cant seem to find them anywhere.
Thanks,
Kris

Inappropriate? My apologies - we indeed just put this form inside the calendar widget (we actually have two calendar widgets; the old one doesn't have this feature).
So, right now there is no way to turn this off on the calendar widget [yet]. You can only turn this off on the event page. To do this, click on the event title, then click on "edit event page." Next, click on Content >> edit remove widgets. Then, click checkbox next to event actions (this will remove the component in upper right of page).
