Add an option to deactivate audio-tips.
Dear spotify. I am one of your early fans, I bringed all my friends on spotify, because I thought it was awesome.
Now, I beg you to implement the possibility to disable audio-tips. I didn't learned anything and it is as much annoying as a normal advert... So please, please... It's ok to support the free service with adverts, but the audio-tips are completely unnecessary.
Thank you.

Inappropriate?totally agree... I already posted about this. This gets really annoying, furthermore when it's 90% of the ads you get...
There are other ways to display tips in the client...
I'm totally ok with commercial ads or "subscribe to premium" ads (you need to make money out of us free users, right) but tips & everything will just get people annoyed and might discourage them to use spotify as their music player (thus having an impact on commercial ads income...)
I’m hearing spotify tips ads in my dreams...
-
Inappropriate?having the tips about newest features is something that should imo be in the "home" view of the client, not as an ad
-
Inappropriate?Tips and Tricks are there for NEW users,
Buy a version of spotify and you will not have to hear them
(Spotify is a free music client And you have to try and respect the ads as it pays the spotify team for there hard work)
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?RoMeO,
I love Spotify and I love the ads, since they allow me to use it for free.
But lately the increase in the number of audio ads is being excessive. Thanks to digitalparanoid (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?ke...), we know the increase is due mainly to the inclusion of Spotify audio-tips, which are useless once you have listened to them four times in a row...
So, the option to deactivate them would make everyone happy!
It's not that we are not thankful, it's just that if that doesn't change I probably will stop using Spotify.
And no, I don't want to go Premium; I want to use it for free and I'm happy there are advertisers who pay it for me and I'm willing to listen to their ads, but not Spotify audio-tips...
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?Yes theres alot of ads. But the reason is theres more people playing music,
heres just a few things that spotify has to pay for
(Sever speed)
(Devs)
(Art work)
(Domain)
(Copyrights)
(other staff)
Now lets look at some of the things thay do
(Add Music for you)
(Fix bugs and features)
(Think of new ideas to inplant)
(Help you with your probs)
Thats just a few things of the top of my head.
theres lots more.
so you sitting there hearing a 30sec ad is a bad thing?
Enjoy it while you can.
this is still only a beta (Beta is like : Testing)
theres no sign saying this is going to be here forever
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?I'm not against the ads. I love them! I totally support the option "free with ads".
But the audio-tips are annoying: I only need one time to understand how the Label Search works (and today they have explained it to me ten times).
And most importantly the audio-tips do NOT help Spotify to pay all the things it has to pay for...
I'm sitting here hearing a 30 sec ad thinking it's great someone had this idea and hoping they will create an option to deactivate the audio-tips so that I can enjoy it as I have until last week.
I don't think giving our feedback on that problem amounts to being ungrateful.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate? No spotify loves feedback. and im sure that thay read everypost to make the user feel more better about useing spotify.
but like i said in the last topic

As i know of Spotify has no plans on removing ads for none paying users or even giving a option to what ads you would like to hear
When you signed up you clicked "I agree to the terms of use"
its like saying
i sold a bike today
but i told him i want the kickstart back when hes not using it
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate?I've myself have seen times when these tips happen up to THREE times in a row. I'd gladly hear ads instead of this freaking "Head-on, apply directly to the forehead" nonsense.
I’m dissapointed and annoyed
-
Inappropriate?I agree, replace 9/10 audio-tips with ads instead. Make more money to pay for the things RoMeO, so kindly, listed.

Thank You +1 -
Inappropriate?Actually I believe the tips will be replaced will real ads as soon as real companies start buying these places.
The tips are just here so that the users get used to listening to ads, whatever they might be.
Though, even if I completely agree to hear ads while using the free spotify, they should be placed every ten songs or so. Every 4/5 songs is just too much...
-
Good point about making the listeners familiar with ads but I think the amount of ads could be depending on where you listen or to what songs. Because I don't get a lot of ads at all and I live in northern Sweden. It seems like they want local ads and it might not just be that many companies that are interested yet. Hopefully there would be more. I really like the idea of free music and Spotify is doing a great job. -
I love Spotify. Free music is the way to go and hopefully it will remain that way. I had very few ads at the beginning. I'm ok to listen to ads to have free music but I if have the choice I would rather have 1mn every 10 songs than 30s every 5 songs. -
Inappropriate?Damn Romeo, have you read the topic? It's not about disabling the ads or something like that. It's about disabling the audio tips. Audiotips doesn't bring any money to the Spotify team. Everybody using spotify (at least non premium users) agrees to listen to ads, no problem with that! But hearing the same tips 10 times a day is really, really annoying !!!
And once again, it has nothing to do with ads, stop answering that Spotify needs ads to work and pay the server and so on...we already know that ! We're speaking about audiotips (i.e. little audio messages telling tips, made by the spotify team and that don't bring any money to the team)
I’m annoyed by these tips
-
Inappropriate? What you call "audio tips" is really advertisements for Spotify itself. Like you see so much on e.g. NatGeo, Discovery and similar channels (at least where I live..)
They need to build their identity and reputation.
I’m unconcerned
