Can't turn offline mode off

Thanks Andres. I'm not using a firewall (mac) so it isn't that. However, I did leave it and it finally connected after 10 mins... which is pretty frustrating, but better than nothing. It might be worth changing the legend on the interface so that it states that Spotify is unable to connect to the internet, rather than just "Offline Mode" which is a bit confusing: and from looking through the backlist of problems not one I'm alone in having.

p.s. a couple of computers in our office were experiencing the issue simultaneously this morning, which made me think that it was a more widespread issue than just mine being buggy. (We had no problems on the web, so it wasn't internet connection per se.)

I use Ubuntu 9.04 and havent been able to use Spotify at ALL recently because of this problem,it is in Offline mode ALL the time.:(((
Think it sucks because i have Premium and pay money for it,and it dont work.:(((

I am having the same problem. I can't connect to spotify from mac with my wifi but i can connect with the wifi of my neighbour. After 5 minutes i can connect. Please what happen?

I'm having the same issue.
And using a Mac to. I was using the same wifi as I have been using, and my flat mate is having no problem with it. But hes on a PC Laptop.
Maybe its a Mac issue?

Only way i can make it work now on my Ubuntu PC is to open Spotify and wait,then it comes online after several minutes.^.^
Wierd,because it works fine on my Windows XP PC.

This is obviously a bug which seems to affect mac and linux users. I get it on linux but do not log in very often to my XP box to see if there is a problem there.

Nevetheless paying for premium account and getting this problem is not acceptable.

Can we see an oficial Spotify comment or a way to submit bug report plaeas

This happened to me then I closed spotify and opened it again but it was still off line so I shut down my computer and turned it back on opened spotify then closed it and opened it again and now it's fine!!!

I am listening to Spotify right now. Someone else who's on the same network has this problem. We're both using Windows XP SP3. If I can connect it's not our firewall that's the problem.

I switched my firewall off and on and Spotify just started working. Don't figure but I now have tunes again. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I cannot connect to Spotify because is shown "offline" all the time and my internet conexion is fine. What happens? What do we have to do?

Had this problem a few days ago and fixed it by re-installing. same again tonight and tried re-installing again but no joy....

Would help if we could see it 'trying' to log in...or allows us to trace it somehow...

bloomin nightmare, I enjoy searching for new music on spotify i hear on 6 music every day, its been offline for so many days i can't remember, someone pleeeese tell me how to fix it

XP SP3, exactly the same problem as me, doesn't suck as much since I don't pay a fee, but still this problem perplexes me.

my spotify is in a "offline mode" for five days now :( please help me??

I have the same problem with Spotify being in offline mode, now it won't even let me remove the programme saying 'Spotify is started. Please close it first' but I don't have it open! Can anyone help please?

I have had the same problem as everyone else here with the offline mode for the last coupple of weeks. I have tried upploading the latest version and waited for it to connect during several hours. I have no other problem with my internet connection. Can I uninstall it or will my playlists disappear then? How do I get it to work again? (I'm using a PC with internet explorer)

I'd had this problem for weeks - very frustrating! However today I solved it! I have Norton Security and all I had to do was adjust the Firewall settings so that it would allow Spotify Program. Easy & I'm back on!!

Same problem here using 0.3.21, this has happened before on the previous release version and it is not related to my internet connection as everything else is connecting fine and fast. I am on a mac with snow leopard and have an 18mb connection. Spotify does sometimes connect after about 10 minutes. There is a basic firewall on my router but it does not mess with any other applications including HD streaming, if it is affecting Spotify then this should surely be classed as a bug.

This is such crap. I've been using Spotify fine for a good few months now, but today for no reason - I haven't changed any settings - it won't let me connect. I've been stuck in an "unavailable in offline mode" loop all day.

And then I follow the advice on this forum to install the latest version, which I follow - like an idiot - and now I can't even log in as it says I have "No Internet Connection" (I'm posting this with smoke signals)...

"Please make sure that your computer can access the Internet and try again. Additionally you could try to change the currently used proxy settings"

I solved it as well, it seems. I removed all songs from being able to be heard offline (including turning off any attempts at making songs available offline), went to the "storage" directory, and deleted it. Now everything seems to be back to normal.

I did it, I just logged in again! I came in online mode:)

I had the same problem & Andres the Spotify Employee provides the correct solution. I had recently changed my antivirus company provider which appears to have caused the problem. I briefly turned off the firewall (dont leave it off!) and retried Spotify. I worked! Thanks Andres.
