Compliment/complete artist discography from id3/title of hard drive media.

Problem:

Spotify is great, but searching isn't a very efficient way to browse music, and limits you to stuff you know you want to hear.
Also, without the basic ability to play hard drive media, it limits itself to being yet another application to have open, rather than replacing, for example, iTunes, or VLC completely.
Why would someone pay for their secondary media application?

Solution:

It would be great if spotify could list and play music stored on the hard drive, and complete/compliment back catalogs for artists detected in the title/id3.

This would benefit spotify by not needlessly streaming music I already have.
This would benefit spotify because it would replace VLC as my choice of audio software.
This would benefit spoitfy because I'd pay for this feature

So, why not?
