Equalizer
How about adding an equalizer so that you can set the sound as you wish, good for parties also, if you want to boost the bass, you can do this in other ways off course, me, I like to set the equalizer differently depending on what I'm listening to, Jazz, Rock, Bossa Nova, Blues, using the computer has a lot of advantages - with the option to save presets, set the way you like them... thanks for a great product, spotify - rocks your world! (at least mine)

Inappropriate?It's a lot better if you click "I like this idea" in one of the existing EQ-related threads (which GetSatisfaction quite assuredly showed you as you where writing this post).
If there already are threads on the subject you're concerned about, you're encourage to post in them to avoid clutter, making sure everything is easily accessible in one place.
In other words, go discuss EQ in one of the threads listed to the right of this very page.
Better yet, click the Equalizer tag, and you'll see which thread has most followers.
