Inappropriate?I have this problem as well.
Perhaps Spotify is finding I'm accessing from lots of different places at the same time but this is because I have 1 computer at home with Spotify usually switched on 24/7 and 1 netbook with Spotify on both Linux and Windows which I use elsewhere (and if perchance I still have music playing at home, I rely on it being paused by Spotify automatically when I start playing it on the netbook).
Offline access has been withdrawn on Spotify on my WIndows partition of my netbook. How come?
I’m confused

Inappropriate?I got this from Spotify:
This is caused by the authorisation system. At present, only 3 devices can be used for offline syncing tracks. When a 4th device is used, authorisation for offline sync is removed from another machine (the one used for syncing least recently).
This authorisation system is being worked on to reduce incidences of "false" removal of authorisation. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience.
Best wishes,
Jude

Inappropriate?I have only synced to two computers, yet I get this error now when I'm travelling. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that this laptop was in a docking station when I synced the music. If they are using MAC address to identify devices this may seem a different device after undocking?
-
Inappropriate?Greetings, as of today i switch regularily between a desktop which is mostly online, a laptop and a mobile client (iPhone). How can it be that i got the same error?
And why do Spotify not point that out in the commericials? The impression i had was that the offline sync would be available for all my clients, except that song-limit.
This needs to be clarified.

Offline mode works on 3 devices, if you add a 4th it remove offline from one device.
http://www.spotify.com/en/help/faq/#o...
We had an error in the first version of the iPhone app that counted a reinstall as a new device which may have caused a number of these errors but this bug should now be solved and you should be able to use on 3 devices without issues. -
Inappropriate?I get the same “offline access withdrawn” message. I hope that someone please can explain what is happening, whether there is a limit for this function or not.
The point of paying for Spotify is that you have access to your music everywhere. I have Spotify on my ipod, on my Android phone and on my laptop. That is only 3 devices/computers...

Inappropriate? How do we "unauthorise" then? I had spotify on an android device which I have now sold but I wiped everything so it shouldn't still be authorised!, i currently have it on an iphone and a laptop.
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate?During the last month it has happend at least five times. I use my account on two different laptops.
You could actually use your time on more productive things than syncronize 500 songs once a week.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Ditto. Only using on 2 computers, one home and one work, and now i can't use it offline. Very irritating as I had recently wiped all my saved tracks when backing up my data. It was also pretty irritating how hard it was to find and remove the music files that spotify had saved so I didn't have to back-up a thousand tracks with my documents.

Inappropriate?It happened again...
-
Inappropriate?I found a fix for my machine. it was just doing it on my work PC so I suspected it was to do with the fact that I had deleted a large portion of the hidden music files that Spotify had saved. A wipe and re-install has fixed the issue, though I suspect this solution will only work in select cases.
-
Inappropriate?Same issue here and I'm only using Spotify on my iPhone and my 2 home computers!
As a premium subscriber I do not expect to have such limitations!!
Unacceptable!

Inappropriate?Still, none of Spotify's employees have responded to our concerns. Where is Andres at?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Andres is pointing at the faq, which tells us that you can use three different devices.
I have never used more than two.

Inappropriate?Hi all,
The offline system is still a bit sensitive and therefore if you start syncing offline tracks on a 4th device (before de-authorizing) the offline access will be withdrawn from one of the devices/computers.
If you reinstall a iphone/android phone this will count as a new device and will remove one of the other offline devices since it most likely was not de-authorized (de-authorize by uncheck all the playlists that are available in offline mode).
We understand that this can be frustrating if an access is removed. We also understand that we can improve how we manage the offline devices. And we have reported this to the development team for the future.
So to solve the problem, just restart a iphone (that have been changed) and sync the tracks again.
Please note, if you change the password your offline tracks will also required to be re-synced.

Does upgrading on iPhone or Android or PC/Mac count as reinstalling?
Does this mean that everytime Spotify pushes out an upgrade to any platform that all of the off-line tracks will need to be re-synced on the upgraded device? -
Spotify will not net to resync if you upgrade, but if the upgrade fails and you manually have to reinstall it can be required. -
Ok, in that case your developers need to work extra hard to make sure that upgrades don't fail, otherwise you will have a lot of annoyed and irritated customers. -
Inappropriate?Hi,
Thank you for your answer,
but none of these scenarios apply in my case.
I have used the same two laptops. Doesn't use on mobile. Haven ́t changed the password. -
Could you tell more about your computers and where you use them? What os are they? -
- One (IBM ThinkPad T42) of the laptops only at home, the other one (Lenovo T400) at home and at work.
- Both are Win XP.
- I remember changing password less than a week ago, but my previous problems are not linked to change of password. -
Hmm, hopefully you will not see more of this now since you are only using two. I assume you have not uninstalled/reinstalled either. Next time you have access removed, please email premium support and let us know more and we will try to look in to it more in your case. Since it's sounds a bit random on your account. :( But hey, maybe we can find out what is causing it!

Inappropriate?Ok, let me see if I understand this... because I've re-installed Spotify on my mobile phone (android) a couple of times, it's now locked out my desktop and laptop computer's offline access.
If I re-sync all my offline playlists on these two devices, everything will work fine.
So any other time I need to re-install spotify on my phone (hopefully not again now!) then I'll have this problem again.
It's not great, but if we understand it then at least we can sort it out. -
As said, it not great but it can be solved. :) -
Inappropriate? This is damn annoying. I have reinstalled my android sw two weeks ago because of that always-login-on-start-bug. But today my offline access to my work laptop got suspended. Does it have anything with mac-adresses to do? I'm out in the field today and not in the work dock.
I'm offline-syncing home comp, android phone, and work laptop.
