I can't log in. I get a message saying that a firewall may be blocking my internet connection (error 117), but I don't think it is.

I noticed yesterday that even if I turned off the firewall in F-secure the message (error 117) still pops up and I cannot log in to Spotify. I have the windows firewall inactive. Would you say the problem is in the routers firewall? Can I not have a firewall active there? How would you recomend me to solve the problem? -
I have no antivirus and have turned the firewall off and it still wont work! :(

Inappropriate?I have F-secure antivirus. And the firewall in windows and my router is deavtivtated.
It says that a spotify file may med damaged...or something. When I deactivate that firewall I can play Spotify...but I want to have it active.1 Comment Add a comment

If deactivating the firewall works then it's clearly the problem. You should be able to set your firewall so that it allows Spotify full access to the internet, then you can use Spotify and the firewall at the same time.

Inappropriate?I've just gone into Windows Firewall from my control panel and it looks as thought this is turned off. So can't be that. Anything else I can check? -
Inappropriate?I've got this problem too, first time it's happened since i installed Spotify a couple of weeks ago. I haven't changed any of my settings, but suddenly it won't let me log in now!

the message it says and dont get
"A firewall may be blocking your Internet connection (error 101). Additionally you could try to change the currently used proxy settings"

Inappropriate?exactly the same here; error 110 though. It has been working fine for a long time and this happened after I connected my computer to another internet connection, and then took it back to the previous one. Same settings n everything. any suggestions to solutions please?

uninstall spotify and re-instal it. Thats for people that had it working before but if its stoped working now do that.
If you just downloaded it and its not working
check out your firewall by going in to control panel and adding spotify in the trusted apps.
if this does not work come back and we will work it out with each other

My idea also but still no joy after re-installing :( now saying password error?? never had any problems before. not changed any settings either....?? any other ideas?

Inappropriate?I can't log in either. I have uninstalled, re-installed several times. I have turned off firewall, and I have no anti virus program with a firewall. It worked yesterday... I don't get it. Makes me frustrated. I'm a premium customer, but I just resigned from that. What's the point in paying for something that doesn't work???

Inappropriate?I have several machines in the same network, behind the same router. All workstations are configured with the same access rules. On four machines, Spotify works like a charm. On one Spotify always reports error 117.
I recently also got another Internet connection installed, and tried to connect the troublesome machine directly to the net, turned of firewall and antivirus, etc., but Spotify reported error 117 still. This is NOT a firewall related problem. My username is Mamelund.
