I miss the Equalizer...
I really like Spotify and it would be hard to recommence using Dezzer or other Mod Sites.
But you should definitely implant an Equalizer.

Inappropriate?Thanks Andres for replying on behalf of Spotify, and thanks th4 for starting this thread. An embedded equalizer would, in my opinion, be the last piece of the puzzle for Spotify, which is a fantastic service otherwise. Thanks for considering!

Inappropriate?There is a Quick-and-dirty way to 'solve' this EQ thingy. I found it by mistake and have been using it as a 3rd party solution.
Trick is to have Airfoil installed on the same PC/MAC with Spotify. Airfoil is a nice little program that one can use to stream audio from any source to Apple's Airport system - and not only just Airport, but actually any system as there is also Airfoil Speakers bundled with the streamer that can be used if one does not have Airport device.
What Airfoil does is that it creates a DSP device to you system to act like a soundcard - then it hijacks audio from any aplication and streams it to either Airfoil Speakers or Airport or both at the same time (in sync!) - and while doing this it also has a 10-level EQ!
Airfoil and Spotify are great combination! We use it in office - We have one PC with Spotify and Airfoil installed on it, Then we have several user PC's and MAC's with Airfoil Speakers installed, and one Airport Express that is connected to amplifier at the gym.
Now, we have created a collaborative playlist that everyone can edit and it is playing 24/7 - music can be heard from several places, with a perfect sync and with EQ!

Inappropriate?I recon an equalizer would be perfect for Spotify. This would enable users to taylor sound towards their own surroundings, i.e. not annoying neighbours with too much bass, or lowering the trebble for those silly, little laptop speakers. I await your decision almighty one.

Inappropriate?A built in equalizer would be great, but i use another program that solves this issue perfectly !
The sofware i use in my Mac is Audio Hijack Pro, and by "hijacking" the output from Spotify i can ad a numerous amount of filters to the sound transmitted from Spotify to the speakers.....equalizer is one of them.
This works GREAT and is highly recommended !
By hitting "Record" in AHP you can allso record the streaming music directly to your harddrive for later use offline....just like in spotify for iPhone
