Mobile network data counter just went sky high beeing on WiFi
Is the counter for mobile network data on the iPhone supposed to count the data downloaded when beeing on a wifi-network? Downloaded a playlist for offline use and my counter just when sky high (from 10 MB to 502 MB) while connected to my WiFi. Isn't the mobile network data counter the amount of data recieved on 3G? Beeing a bit scared right now as I have a cap on 500MB/month.
Thanks in advance!

Inappropriate?DAMN IT!!!!
I had the same problem. This morning before I left home I sync a few playlist thru wifi. the data counter was at 500mb.
On my way, I listened to a few of the cached (offline) playlists. I checked and the data counter only increased a few mb.
Now at work I did sync more playlists. First I got the 117 error because of the firewall, but then it worked fine.
However now the data counter is 1GB. What makes me believe despite being on wifi, spotify downloaded offline tracks thru 3G.
This needs FIXING.
I’m angry

Inappropriate?Hi guys,
thanks for letting us know. First please go to the spotify settings and force offline mode for the spotify application. So that no more data is not transmitted.
Iphone should not be able to sync (download track to be available offline) over 3G. We will continue to look in to this.
Please enable force offline in the Spotify client to ensure no more data is being transmitted. -
Inappropriate? Is this related to the bug found and fixed for other platforms http://getsatisfaction.com/spotify/to...
Thanks for a great app even if i'm now on "slow speed" 3G for the rest of the month
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Hi Guys,
We have also done a fix related to the iphone as well.
If you guys try to reproduce the problem now, are you able to? -
if possible it would be best if you could zero out the data counter to make sure how much is used. -
Inappropriate?Sorry for the late answer. I have not been able to recreate the bug, seems like it is sorted out!! Great job!
Kind regards
Tjalle
I’m thankful
