Option to 'Like' or 'Dislike' advert as done in Facebook.
Option to 'Like' or 'Dislike' advert as done in Facebook. I don't mind listening to the same advert several times, but if its a really bad advert (such as the current HMV advert) I would like the option not to hear that one again. This is currently done on Facebook and gives the user a more personal experience

Inappropriate? Thanks for sharing the idea, it's interesting.
-
Inappropriate?you could also gather statistics of how many people like/dislike certain adverts and take action accordingly - at least in your own ads (which i still think are pretty pointless to begin with; see one of my previously started threads for further info about this off topic point ;) )
-
Inappropriate?I completely agree with this. Repeatedly playing an advert to someone who hates it is never going to make them use that company - it is more likely to have the opposite effect. So there is a benefit to the advertisers also. Suitopia could not give me a suit never mind sell me one - their advert drives me up the wall.
I'd even expand this to allow people to select categories of adverts to they are more targeted to your interests/music tastes.
And please make the Spotify voicemail ones optional (or get rid of them) - they are the worst of the lot. Really starting to ruin my Spotify enjoyment.
I’m desperate for this!
-
Inappropriate?i also agree with this - personally i dont mind most of the adds, even suitopia and hmv are ok but its the orange/nokia comes with music one thats most annoying to me.
I'm sure doing this would also be good for advertisers to give them feedback on what sort of adverts work and appeal to users more and waht ones are detested. -
Inappropriate? You could also allow only one dislike click per one like click, so that people do not just dislike ads ;)
-
Inappropriate?I think they just need to crack targeted ads. Being forced to endure a Paolo Nuttini interlude when I'm listening to Slayer is the pits.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?Great idea. The voice of the chick that's doing the french adverts gets on my nerves every time. It's really silly but I can't help it.
Targetted ads would also be awesome - ads don't need to be an annoyance, if the whole thing is well designed, they can be informative and helpful. I would really like to experience that - ads thelp me discover new & interesting stuff instead of just being a "necessary evil". -
Inappropriate?I definitely agree with this idea. I'm a really squeamish person and I hate it when I have to endure an advert about blood donation (which makes me feel faint just listening to it - yes I'm that pathetic!) or an advert for a horror film - no thanks.

Inappropriate? This is a great idea: the female voiceover used for the medical trials is the equivalent of someone sticking a knitting needle in my ear, the plummy voiced guy droning on about the Lexus is completely irrelevant to me as a consumer (I don't even drive, let alone purchase luxury cars) and don't get me going about Back to My PC - incredibly irritating, especially to a Mac user.
I’m amused

Omgsh i feel the same way! i keep getting the advert that goes 'J'mapelle Sophie, i think that was the first bit of French...' every ad break is Sophie telling me she misses brown sauce >.<
this is irrelevant to me as well because im learning french in school at the moment!
Please spotify make this 'Like' button possible!
