"Find in current playlist" with <ctrl-f> would be very valuable.
Rather surprising that it's not already implemented. </ctrl-f>

Hmm... I Iike your idea! This would be very helpful for people with large playlists on Spotify, but It would be good if you could also specify to search all playlists or only one, a some poeple categorize their playlists differently.
I’m hopeful for this idea

Inappropriate? Thanks for the suggestion, we'll consider it for a future release.

Inappropriate?Pleaaaase fix this. It really sucks to have large personalized playlists without being able to search for one song in the playlist..
I’m really glad to see someone else realizing this problem too!

Completely agree! -
Inappropriate? How about you literally search a database of ALL the playlists in the world so that you can find playlists of your choice?
-
that's not a good idea. -
Inappropriate?Do you realize how many playlists that would be? Lets start with getting a search function for our own playlists:D

i doubt it's more than the amount of tracks in the spotify database -
Inappropriate?I have an idea on how playlist-search could be implemented:
When you start typing in the playlist view, a small text-field will pop up somewhere in the playlist-area. And it will automatically start searching for the first item that matches what you have written. It would follow the sort order and start with the leftmost column (Track), and go to the right (Album). Of course the advanced search methods would work (artist: album: track: etc.). And when you press F3 (maybe another key, but not enter or space, since they already do other stuff) it would go to the next matching item. Pressing escape would close the text-field (clicking somewhere outside the text-field inside Spotify with the mouse would close it as well).
I’m happy

Sometimes I've had troubles finding one or two songs I want to remove from my playlist. -

I totally agree with you! -
I agree : Ctrl+F would be as awesome as natural ; especially on artist page to find a song ! -
I disagree- it's neater to just have an extra column in search results that indicates songs that are in one of your playlists.(user pref. could be to have those tracks appear first in search results list). I think this is a neater solution to yours as yours makes two different search methods and therefore is unlikely to be adopted by the developers. It also potentially reduces the likelyhood you may find something new. -

Inappropriate? This would be a fantastic feature to have... My playlist always seem to grow pretty large so it would be most appreciated

Inappropriate?Searching playlists is especially useful for me, as I had songs nicely organized into playlists by genres, but when I went premium and started using offline mode, I had to split each playlist into an 'online' one and an 'offline' one (ie: bests songs), to stay under the 3333 songs limit.

Inappropriate?I still think implementing more searches is better, but I hadn't realised until recently that you can sort your playlist so it's easier to find things, but still not as easy to use or easy to find as a search bar. I'm glad to see it is likely to be implemented by Spotify (Y).
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Neatest method:-
1. Add column in search results that indicates if track is in one of users playlists.
2. Clicking on that icon would send user to playlist with track selected.
3. User preference: add checkbox to enable search results to be firstly sorted by this column, and secondly by normal sorting (alphabetical).
Much better than Ctrl+F idea. (sorry!)

Inappropriate?I think the problem should be broken down as follows:
1, A search function within playlist scope is needed.
2. CtrlF is Windows standard keystroke for "Search"
3. Spotify should respond to it in a functional and GUI-consistent manner, whichever it is. I'd be glad to discuss usability.
I’m serious about the matter.
-
Inappropriate?Yes, if we should discuss the usability matter, the CtrlF probably is better for Spotify just because of the fact that it's Windows standard keystroke. People will automatically try CtrlF first and what can be better if you notice that the first thing you try is the one working?
I’m excited and hope that Spotify is comin up with something soon..
