Problem with Update
Hi,
When i start Spotify i enter username and passwd, everything seems to be going fine until "Update" shows up and tells me "Update failed". I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with a downloaded .exe from spotify (should be the latets verion eh?) but I still get the "Update failed"-message.
Can you guys help?

Inappropriate?I also have this problem, even with a clean install of Spotify it doesn't work.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? For me the update worked very well. I am on version 0.3.7 (revision 30778) now.
By the way: What are the changes in this version? -
Inappropriate? The version i downloaded was 0.3.6... might explain the problem :)
Edit: anyone found the update for download since the updater won't work? -
The version i had before was 0.3.6 too. After starting today there was the message about updating and then the client started as normal automatically. Now the "About Spotify...." shows version 0.3.7 to me. -
Mine would probably say 0.3.6. But i can't get by the error message... -
Inappropriate?I'm having the same issue this morning with 0.3.6 on Mac (including trying a fresh download). Spotify attempts to update on launch but the update fails. Here's my Console log (I've xxx'd out my username & the hash key):

I did and it worked for me, but what are the changes in v0.3.7? -
Good that this problem is solved, finally! But the customer service is way to slow! -

Inappropriate?I'm having this problem still, I am behind a firewall at work, and my proxy settings work when listening to music but not for the update. Hence, the update fails, and the installable on Spotify website is not the newest version, as it keeps asking me to update even after a clean install.
I’m sad
-
In windows, first remove any Spotify installer file you downloaded. When you don’t find any installer files on your local machine. Download Spotify again, the news version is at the available to download.

In osx, first remove the spotify install file that have been downloaded. When you don’t find any install files on your local machine, download the last version form our website. http://www.spotify.com/en/download/mac/ -
Inappropriate?Uninstalling the application and then installing the new version was the fix for me. Guess I should have tried that from the get-go, but that isn't always necessary. Anyway, thanks for the prompt reply.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?This isnt solved.
I unistalled spotify and hade done it several times to fix this problem.
Im sitting at work and spotify worked fine before the update.
But not any more as i have the same problems as people before me.
When i downloaded the "new" version it still says 0.3.6 and not the new version 0.3.7 thats on the blogg.
I tried to uppload a screenshot about wich version i got down.
But it failed.
I have even followed the link that Carl-Axel place here. Still i got the 0.3.6 version.
Would be happy if this will be solved soon.
I’m frustrated
-
Theelmer, give it a new try now and see if you get the new version! -
Inappropriate?Sorry Carl. Still got the same version when i try to download it from.

Hmm, I have reported this to the web guys and so they can have a look at it. I’ll post as soon as I hear something... -
TheElmer, could you give it a new try download the client? Try refresh the web page before downloading. -
Inappropriate? My Spotify has been working fine here at work for over a month but now suddenly I have this problem.
I had the same problem when installing Spotify for the first time, but I filled in the proxy settings and it worked. Now, it's not. When I have filled in proxy settings I get this message: "Please download the latest version from the Spotify website.Additionally you could try to change the currently used proxy settings." -
I'm having the same problem. -
