Inappropriate? It's still in progress and quite a bit still needs to be converted, I don't know the exact number. We've had some storage issues which has slowed us down a bit but were working hard to get it all done.

Hello Anders, it would be great to get a more consice answer and maybe an update if you have internal IT problems to provide better data. Custoemrs are interested in knowing which songs are in 320K quality and which not ( a number of album/tracks in 320k format which are accessible compare to the total number in the database would be a good parameter too).
It is totally inappropriate if Spotify representative questions if a customer can hear the difference or not "...if you can not hear the difference that what is the point....). The provide this data are a simple database query.
To be clear I am a Spotify fan but you are looking for constructive feedback (I hope so...).

Inappropriate?I agree, this information should be available. If you're audio quality enthusiastic you certainly want to know this before choose the premium.

In another thread the answer was that more than half of the catalogue, meaning 2,5 million tracks, are available in high bitrate. Also, all newly added albums are available in high bitrate. -
Judging by the comments posted here it is clear that the marketing that led me to use spotify (i.e. 320 once a premium user) is not exactly true. The user interface is excellent and has made me enjoy previously forgotten musical treasures, but... on a wide bandwidth system the sound is lacklustre - is this due to only streaming at 160kbps? i would happily pay double for a genuine lossless flac source. The potential for growth and income for this service is unlimited; if the management start deciding what is acceptable (lowest common denominator bit rates) to this service, an opportunity may be missed. There is a large sector of the download community that would gladly pay for a superior quality. Keep up the good work spotify, but think ahead, look at sky HD and the like, its the way forward.
