Spotify error 117 at work
I am in a corporate location with a local admin account and cannot connect to Spotify Premium. It worked for me and my colleagues in the office from 090707 until 090805, but then it started complaining about "no internet connection". Now the message has unexplainably changed to error 117. I tried a proxy from http://www.samair.ru/proxy/socks10.htm and then it gave error 108. Contacting IT might be an option if the exact cause can be identified.
I have made a connection attempt now at 9:17 GMT and my user name is Suedez.
It always works from my home location.

Inappropriate?This will most likely be down to your companies IT department. Spotify uses P2P, which they have probably blocked to keep network traffic down, resulting in disallowed access.
That's just one of many theory's, but it's best to contact your IT dept. :) -
Inappropriate?thanks Dan. if this is true, would it still block me if I was to use a proxy? would there be any other technical options than making a remote connection to my home PC and play spotify from there?

Inappropriate?I'd recommend "Gotomypc" or "Logmein" as a paid solution, you could even use standard microsoft terminal services (remote desktop), but that's a bit more advanced to setup.
