Spotify won't synchronize my playlists!
Whenever it tries to synchronize my playlists it says "Failed to synchronize playlists Retrying and it never works help!!!

Yes I've been having the same issue for quiet a time now. I think it started around the same time as the last.fm synchronization issue

Inappropriate?If you take the URI (not the HTTP link) for the playlist and paste it directly into the search bar on Spotify does the playlist appear then?

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. I've tried clearing all my playlists and re-adding them. Some playlists synchronize but others do not. Very weird.

Based on your comment above I was under the impression that your playlist reappear when you pasted the URI into the search bar? We're not experiencing any problems synchronizing playlists. -

When I say it works I mean that the list appears in the other Spotify program but it doesn't sync. -
So basically you have the same playlist in 2 different programs but the songs are different in each one?
Can you post the link to the playlist you're referring to? -

I thought that when I sign on to Spotify on one computer and then sign on spotify on another computer those two should syncronize their playlists, right? That doesn't happen. -

20 tracks is correct. But have I misunderstood something? When I create a playlist on one computer I thought that it should synchronize and pop up on the other computer, isn't that what it's all about? Anyway, the errormessage that it can't sync appears all the time. -
The way it should work is that if you create a playlist and login with your account on another computer that playlist should be there, exactly the way you created it and any changes you make should be reflected in all the accounts you log into.
It's possible that the playlist cache is somehow corrupted. One thing you could try is to close Spotify and delete the Application caches, then when you restart the playlist should hopefully sync properly. -

Inappropriate?I am also having this problem, started using it at work, then installed at home logged in with same account and nothing, keeps saying could not find playlist and even when i paste in the URI it doesnt connect. I have also opened port 4070. Then when i got back to work it lost my playlist from yesterday, like its synchronizing with home to see no playlists, but at home it wont pull the playlist that i made at work. can you please explain what is going on?

You could try deleting the Application caches that Spotify creates. It's possible that something was corrupted when our servers when down. If you delete them and log back it it should re-sync the playlists. -
Andres, i've just tried what you suggested and it doesn't appear to have worked, i'm still getting the same message. Have you got any other suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Thanks for the reply, I did what you said and it now works, however I dont think it was because of the cache. After twice losing my work playlist (the 2nd time I was ok since I had the URI and it pulled it fine, but still not at home) I re-named the playlist to just 'Rock', it was called 'Rock/Punk', perhaps the / character in the playlist name made a difference? If there are any limitations on allowed characters perhaps the program should warn you when they are typed? Andres, do you think this is the most likely culprit to help others that may be experiencing the same problem?

Thanks for the info. There should be no limit to what characters you can add to the playlists but I'd be very interested to hear if other people also have special characters in the ones that are disappearing.
I will also make a few lists with special characters and see how things act.Thanks again. -
Inappropriate?I do not think special characters have anything to do with it in my case, as my two installations at work and at home have pretty much completely stopped synchronizing. If I add a playlist or edit it at work, I have to do the same thing at home.
4070 is open at home but I do not control my companies firewall policy so I am not sure about work. Is this really necessary?

It's most likely an issue with our playlist servers which have been acting up the past few weeks. Our developers are investigating it to make it more robust. -

Inappropriate?To make matters worse - I have had the message about not being able to synchronise playlists for a day or so and now - half my playlists have sort of dissapeared. The symbol for a playlist is there but the name of the playlist has gone and all the tracks within that playlist have simply disappeared. I spent ages creating these playlists and I will be really annoyed if they are lost forever!
I love Spotify but I just hope this can be sorted quickly!

Inappropriate?I had a problem for about one hour ago..
Spotify (within wine) stopped playing songs and wanted to update itself instead but it was whining about the password. I entered the right password and after 2 or 3 times the client crashed. I wasn't able to start it.
I deleted all files in .wine and reinstalled both wine and spotify, just to be sure.
After a while I found the spotify-update process that had hung itself, so I killed it.
And finally, then all the components was up and running... all my playlist where Gone! (I didn't even get an error message like you above).
It's just totally gone...

Inappropriate?I have had problems with my playlists for over a week now. Songs I remove on one location are not removed when I log on in another location. New playlists that I add or create at work, are not available when I start Spotify at home. I also often get a problem with "playlist not found" when I get links to playlists created by friends.

It never has but it didn't become a huge problem before the release of the iPhone app. I've deleted the cache but that didn't do anything. This is really starting to get on my nerves so please help!

Feel free and reset my playlists on my account jcevansson , I am assuming that I have corrupt playlists that where created on an old crashed XP machine.

So it's not just me then ? I have had zero response too : I got a Premium Account for the first time 5 days ago, and have yet to be able to sync anything to my iPhone (the reason for me buying in the first place). I reported the problem but have yet to have any reply. The status message on Spotify's site says that they are having trouble with the playlist servers, but that has been there for the last 5 days. Something is not right if so many people are reporting the same problem, and Spotify needs to provide clear communication to its customers if there is a consistent issue.
So, I add to your question : IS ANYONE FROM SPOTIFY READING THESE MESSAGES AND IS THERE SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE NOT TELLING US ???

Inappropriate?I have had the same problem, flag permanently up. Have managed syncing to Iphone on initial set up, and it has updated once but now not syncing at all even on the phone. Got a message on the phone this morning that syncing would be tried again later.

I use spotify on two Windows XP machines, one linux (ubuntu) machine running wine and an android. None of them synchronizes correctly.
Today on one of the winxp machines I tried to uninstall spotify and remove the user/cache data and then reinstall. That resulted in no playlist being downloaded at all. Neither did any playlist get downloaded to my android phone (HTC Hero) when i installed spotify on the release day of the mobile client.
On one of the winxp machines and the linux machine i still have all my playlists but they do not synchronize anything between each other and the "Failed to sync..." message is always there. Trying to remove one playlist and add it again from the uri made that playlist synchronize for some days and then got out of sync again.
Please let me know your current status of this and if I can help you in any way.

Inappropriate?Hello. I am using spotify on macbook and iphone, and have tried removing all caches etc and have reinstalled spotify. No matter what I do, I have never been able to sync my computer with my iphone, and I permanently have the "Could not synchronise playlist" flag up. I've removed all playlists, but when I start a new one, the same thing happens. I am a premium subscriber. Please help .

Inappropriate?I too am having the same issue since the 16th of November. Some playlists on my Android are marked as 'Loading...' , after creating a new playlist on my phone it only shows up as 'Loading...' on my PC yet works fine on the phone.
