System tray icon disappears with wine

I run Spotify using wine in Ubuntu 9.04 and have my panel configured to hide automatically. However, when the panel hides, the Spotify icon disappears from the system tray and I don't have access to the program any more. I have to open Spotify again from the menu to access the main window.
