So new Mcafee DAT file is available for download, go update Mcafee and get back listening to Spotify! (See blog for instructions how to get started again)

Inappropriate? Can also confirm that McAfee's latest DAT version (5623.0000) solves the problem and detects no virus in spotify.exe!
To update to the latest DAT version, start the VirusScan Console (or right-click the icon in systemtray) and select update now!
And if McAfee has removed the exe file, download and reinstall Spotify.
Case closed!
I’m happy again!

Lucky you - still can't update to correct DAT file - very frustrated now. -

To find out if you have the 5623 DAT file, right-click the M icon in your taskbar and choose About. -
Inappropriate?I haven't been able to pick up the new data file yet - I have to assume that it is taking a while to cascade down but it is very annoying that some people have the new data file and some don't - why is that? However many times I force a McAfee update I still have file 5622 and I can't make head or tail of the complicated alternative download process.
McAfee could well have lost Spotify customers over this.
I’m annoyed

Hear hear. I'm in exactly the same boat, and I have tried the updates offered on the McAfee site: one, no of the instructions in the read me file are for the type of AV I have, apparently, and two, my computer won't accept the file anyway! Really not impressed. -
Inappropriate?I cheated: I don't necessarily recommend this (although it's worked fine for me). When I couldn't get my updates to find the new dat file or the downloads of it to work I tried deleting the old 5622 dat files -- McAfee pitched a fit and told me i needed to reinstall, so i told it to update and lo and behold, when it HAD to find new Dat files, it found 5623. My spotify is now working fine.
I’m relieved

Inappropriate?I have McAfee SecurityCenter 9 and it wont download any new definitions, I'm stuck on the "ol' 5622" no matter what I do.
Update:
Trying to use the 5623xdat.exe to update the definitions won't work. It just tells me it can't find any "qualifying McAfee product".....oh joy!
I’m frustrated & angry

Inappropriate?I know this won't help everyone, but I have been trying to update to the 5623 thingy for ages and have only just got it, so patience can pay off! Hope it works out ok for everyone
I’m pleased

Inappropriate? For McAfee users. Open McAfee and choose update now then reinstall Spotify. The McAfee boys and and girls must have been busy and rectified the problem at their end.
