Where is The Beatles?
Why isn't The Beatles available? Have the rights-owners explicitly declined to participate in Spotify, or is there another reason? What other big artist are missing?

Inappropriate? The Beatles's label is extremely protective over their music. It is doubtful that we will ever see The Beatles on Spotify seeing as how it took years for the label to even agree to sell it on the iTunes Music Store (which most labels jump to as soon as offered).
It sucks, but the fact of the matter is that Apple Records is ridiculously stubborn and refuses to participate in anything of this nature.

Inappropriate?http://www.spotify.com/en/about/what/
"There are no restrictions in terms of what you can listen to or when"
This should be changed ASAP, because this is definitely NOT TRUE! Spotify is struggling with artists and label rights just the same as every other music platform (Napster, Last.fm, iTunes, Lala, Musicload,..., and so on)!
Other big artists that are missing on Spotify: e.g. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd -
That's a foolish misreading of the terms. Obviously (or at least to me...?), the entire music catalogue of the world isn't on Spotify. I'd be slightly spooked out if it was. The /about/ page is saying that ~of the music available~, there are no restrictions to what you can listen to... -
But you can read that ~of the music available~ only between the lines on the about-page, can't you? For me this "there are no restrictions to what you can listen to" was only a campaign pledge to get many new users that holds no truth now! :-( -
Inappropriate?Spotify would welcome the addition of Beatles in our catalogue. However, the artist decided that they did not want to be included and therefore we are obligated to respected that decision.
