Why is spotify stating that I'm not in Finland while I am?

I live in "Åland" and have the same problem. And now i cant log in :(

i'm surprised people from turku haven't had similiar problems

That's beacuse we are from Åland and have some kind of problem with the nationality tag (AX). And none seems to know where we belong

I've managed to fix it, Ålands ISP seemingly have rerouted all trafic so it looks like we're in a different part of Åland (Eckerö for me at least) so try changing your postalcode to 22270 and it might work

EDIT* it's working fine for me with my regurlar postalcode now.....

Well I'm sad to say my solution was only temporary since seemingly it's stating that I'm on a trip again, so the problem remains

Same problem on my side. My location is Mariehamn (Åland) Finland.

Spotify Staff, why not contact the ISP Ålcom (www.aland.net) and fix the problem? I know many other people who has the same problem.

Well the main problem in this matter isn't spotify, it's our retarded ISP (Alcom) who likes to pretend that we're an own country with our own domain... Big creds to Spotify if they're acctually trying to develop something that might help us to gain access to this godlike service again, even if they aren't I won't blame them ignoring a small (and above all greedy) community like Åland... Hopefully this will work out in the near future..

On topic wouldn't it be possible to give people with the (AX) domain some "travel exception" so we could still listen to spotify? Given that we're going to host the NATWEST island games this summer I'm guessing that alot of people would be happy if Åland was a "travel exception zone"...

EDIT* By travel exception I mean that anyone with a spotify account could listen to music an unlimited period of time on Aland instead of getting the 14 days notice.. This would most definately solve our problem but I'm guessing it would leave room for certain exploits... Well any solution is fine by me since I miss this godlike service! :)

It's not Ålcom who likes to pretend we are an own country, it's Landskapsregeringen, Ålcom is only the provider for .ax domains but the owner is LR.

Belive me, it ́s not Landskapsregeringen. It ́s Alcom that changed it ́s settings, Landskapsregeringen just wanted to provide .ax domains to our users, now it ́s alcom that had the brilliant idea to change the location settings for our connections -.-

Ok, it's not Ålcom's or LR's fault, it's simply Spotify that doesn't support .ax yet, but I guess it will be fixed.
If you have Sonera on your mobilephone you can use that to login to Spotify, then login with Ålcom and you're on a trip for 14 days, then do the same thing when the time runs out. Temporary solution a friend told me.
Or just upgrade to premium and you can be on a trip for unlimited time, 10€/month isn't much.

Plz Spotify can't you fix this fast:/ you know how boring it is without any music?

If you using Alcom as ISP there is a fix and has been for a while now.

@Pjottra - on vista; go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Spotify , on XP go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Spotify and delete the file settings

Since this program isn't working yet, we just have to feep using Limewire, Frostwire an simular programs so get our music and Winamp or WMP to play it.
