Inappropriate? Is this sound on all songs? Have you tried disabling sound normalization from the preferences menu to see if that helps?
-
i find that when playing a track with a fadeout i get sort of pink noise - it's like i'm getting volume normalisation even though i have this turned off. it's a small annoyance as spotify is absolutely wonderful for me, but i do try to strive for perfection in this seriously imperfect world. -
Inappropriate?Hi Peter,
Open Volume Control via Programs / Accessories / Entertainment/ Volume Control
Then tick the mute box below the Line In volume slider. That should fix it.
Hope this helps.

I have D/L the latest version of Spotify 0.3.15 (Ver 46797) but still get a noticeable hiss in the background.
I have tried turning off Sound Normalisation and I do not have a line input facility on Windows XP.to turn off.
Any suggestions

Inappropriate? No line in in Volume Control to adjust. Normalisation off, Hiss clearly audible. Worse than a c-cassette with Dolby NR off. Baaad!
-
Inappropriate? You should be able to show Line In if you go to Advanced Controls in Volume Control and then tick the mute box
-
Inappropriate? No such thing. However I found Properties where I could add Microphone to the view but that was already muted...
-
Inappropriate? If you are in Advanced Controls click Options and then Properties and you should get a menu of check boxes as to which controls to show. I have XP here,

Inappropriate?I changed to different headphones where it was even more audible. In fact at times it seems more than a plain hiss. At the end of the songs it sounds partly like som kind of static interference...and the hiss.
-
Inappropriate?I changed the proxy address and that seemed to help. At least now it sounds ok.
-
Inappropriate? There is still the hiss but not as much as before. Bearable but not good. OK for AC/DC, Metallica, Diablo etc. but not so good for Enya, Clannad etc.
All items have been selected for recording and playback in Volume control. Microphone muted. This would be a good place for google mail chat or something like that... -
