I think it should be possible to synch your google docs account with springpad (like for the calendar), and then there should be an item in the "add bar" wich says "add document" and another one wich says "new document".
By clicking on "add document" you should be able to browse in your google docs account files and then link one to your springpad.
By clicking on "new document" you would have to chose the file type (word - presentation - excel...) give a name and then create it, and automaticaly link it to your springpad.
