I was a victim of bait and switch with a $150 all-you-can-eat data plan.
I signed up for a $150 unlimited voice/data plan in August. I recently was billed for an amount that far exceed that amount. After several cycles and hours with Sprint customer service, I finally reached the cancellation department. The rep told me she did not want to cancel me (huh?). The plan was not available to me in my area (although someone in a Sprint store sold it to me) and that she would try to find an area that the plan was available - forcing me to change my number. What?????? She said she would call me back this morning but I didn't hold my breath. No call today.

Inappropriate? Why does this not surprise me. And it's really impossible to know at this point whether to blame it on incompetence or greed, since there's so much of both in evidence within the telecom industry.
I’m sympathetic

You should never ever ever let them get you off the phone like that. It's what they are trained to do.
Now, if you guys really want to get something done, I am willing to call the CEO. People don't realize that this isn't as hard as it seems. Even if you don't talk to the CEO you can usually get dished to someone in corporate who can make things happen. Remember what rolls down hill. Working with CS Reps with a company that doesn't give a hoot is pretty much a lesson in frustration. -
Inappropriate?I rarely use the word hate. I was a victim of severely idiotic parents who to this day feel they deserve parenting awards. I don't hate them for it. I DO hate my cable company, so much so that I went out of my way to get satellite and paid a substantial amount to bribe my building manager to allow a satellite dish on the roof. There is only one thing I hate more than the cable company. The level of hate i have for this company is only comparable to the hate I have for ideas such as slavery and murder... this company is sprint / nextel. Its the 40 minutes I spend on the phone talking to the robot voice, explaining my problem, street address and customer code letter by letter, and then explaining it again to the operator when I am finally connected. Its the inability for anyone in the company to connect me to the department I need to be connected to without hanging up on me. Its the strange phones they have that never look like anything else on the market. Its the charges that come out of nowhere and take hours to take off my bill. Do yourself a favor, and change phone companies.

Inappropriate?I'd like to apologize for both the sales rep you dealt with (who sold you on a plan that wasn't available in your area) and the cancellation rep (who apparently intended to commit fraud to get you to avoid cancellation). This kind of behaviour is utterly unacceptable at Sprint.
It's been a month since you reported this issue. Could you provide a follow-up on what you've done since then? If you're still with Sprint, there's a chance I can help.
I’m truly sorry.

Inappropriate?I handle our Sprint/ Nextel account with 80 lines, nearly all Blackberry, almost $8000/ month. We have 2 "account managers" and another personal rep and I still deal with the same type of problems. Fortunately our contract is up in a month.

Inappropriate? This actually may solve your problem. File a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Six months ago I had my own unique Sprint-burn: a huge cancellation fee (with mysterious late/interest fees) even though I had been told I was no longer under my contract. When I contacted them to resolve the issue, the customer service dept was hollow, unapologetic, and downright rude. I filed a legitimate, well stated compaint w/ BBB, they contacted Sprint, and Sprint hasn't billed me since.
I’m victorious--you can be, too!

Inappropriate? To Facebookster. The second most thing I hate is comment spam. I will do all that's in my power to spread the word to all my contacts in Facebook, LinkedIn and other networking sites to AVOID your application.
Thank you.
