Sprint Scam #67 - Online Backup 'Add-On Service' Doesn't Cover Data Usage
You pay for a sprint service called online backup. It goes online automatically at set intervals, to the sprint web site, and backs up all of the contacts stored on your phone.
The service costs I think, $5 or $10 a month.
You sign up. It works throughout the month, giving you notices occasionally about how it's working.
...but wait, that's right, this is Sprint we're talking about here, there has to be a catch here, right?
Yep, what sprint now does is to take every single time this new 'service' uses your phone to go online to backup your contacts one their web site and adds data usage charges to your account.
Nice One Sprint! I must admit, I thought I had figured out every one of your scams! Boy was I wrong! Even I have to be impressed with this one and how cleverly you guys lied again!
How many millions of customers did you lose last year? 4 million? wow. How many do you have total? Aren't you worried you will run out of people to scam soon?

Inappropriate? One of the largest cell phones carrying in the nation is the Sprint. Sprint does not take kindly to their database being hacked, and that's what Gary Morrow and Timothy Flowers (who worked in Sprint's billing department) did. The two said that they would eliminate cell phone bills for them, hacking into the database and messing with payment records so they didn’t have to pay. They'll need installment loans for attorneys now, as both have been charged with felony theft and computer crime charges. They operated out of Overland Park, Kansas, but authorities caught on to their scheme and they were booked. Sprint has been mum, but they'll need short term loans to keep out of prison.
