Cannot Access Spymaster
I am trying to access Spymaster using a Dell desktop and IE 6.0. I am able to get to the main page and then when I try to login I get a 404 error. I do NOT see the "whoah there" message or anything. I can login using my phone and using my laptop and Firefox 3.0, but cannot login using IE 6.0 on my desktop.

Inappropriate? There's an IE bug so we suggest running on firefox.
-
Inappropriate?well that is a great suggestion, however, my desktop is my work computer and there I am unable to add firefox. Do we have an estimated resolution time for the IE bug?
I’m not very pleased.

Inappropriate?Hey shannon. If you upgrade to IE8 or even IE7 you should be able to play. This shouldn't be a problem with your company as IE7 or 8 would stay within your guidelines. if you have further problems with IE let me know :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?brntbeer, I cannot download IE 7 or 8. First, IE 8 is still in beta. Secondly, IE 6 is the required browser at the moment for my work at the moment. There are times when I am able to access Spymaster through IE 6 on my home computer, and times when I am not. Oddly, I never have a problem accessing Spymaster from IE 6 on my laptop.
I’m getting increasingly frustrated with Spymaster

Inappropriate?that's kinda odd that you cannot upgrade to IE7 at work. i know it says IE6 is required but ie6 is not that different from ie7, did you try asking them why they haven't upgraded or if it'd be ok if you could?
-
Yes, I have. Some of the programs we run are optimized for IE 6. We are working on getting them updated for IE 7, but that is not expected to happen anytime soon. -
If IE 6 is required, then I should be able to use IE 6 with Spymaster with no problem since as you say they are not that much different. I would expect a company who states IE 6 is required to provide proper support for IE 6 and above. I wouldn't expect you to provide support for IE 5 or below. -
I never stated IE6 is required...i meant that if IE6 is required at YOUR company. IE6 has some issues with logging in and authenticating through twitter when you are re-routed back to playspymaster.com. We require that you use at least IE7. -
Perhaps that should be listed somewhere, like your FAQs or similar?!?! -
I'm sorry, but if you cannot upgrade then you cannot play for now. I will suggest posting something in FAQs for IE users. -
Inappropriate?Hi Shannon,
My company only used IE 6 for ages, and lots of stuff stopped working... unfortunately, IE 6 is actually a very incompatible browser, and also very dangerous (security-wise) so it would really be in your company's interest to consider it.
I realise it wouldn't be fixed tomorrow if you suggested it to them, but you should really bring up the security implications of IE 6 because no one can argue that IE 7 is too "new" any more.
I’m unconcerned

While I understand that IE 6 has security leaks, much like all Microsoft products, I also know that we are incapable of using IE 7 at this time.
