Seeing a "Whoa there!" message?
Eston reporting.
The Directorate has found that many people are having trouble logging into Spymaster using Internet Explorer. This leads to an error message such as:
Whoa There!
This page requires some information that was not provided. Please return to the site that sent you to this page and try again ... it was probably an honest mistake.
Our engineers have said that this is a bug on Twitter's end and affects all Twitter applications that log in the way Spymaster does (using Allow/Deny.) This has nothing to do with the Swiss Banking exploit, so if you cannot log in please do not ask for your account to be reinstated. Your account was most likely never reset and asking for a reinstate may actually hurt your account.
We will update this thread as soon as the issue is resolved. Meanwhile, you can use another browser such as Mozilla Firefox to access all affected Twitter applications.

Inappropriate?I have a similar problem - every time I try to log in with Firefox 3.5b4, I get bounced with a "Whoa there!" message once, then the second time it always works, no matter if I was already logged into Twitter or not. Should I file a separate report?
-
You're on the bleeding edge. :) This is most likely a bug you should check with the Firefox team on handling secure pages with mixed (non-SSL) content. -
Perhaps, but let me give more details:
1) It's an "Access denied." message, not a "Whoa there!" message.
2) It occurs on Google Chrome and Firefox 3 as well on three different computers. -
If that's the case, it appears some type of oAuth issue is in play — the Access Denied message means authentication didn't happen properly. What is your Twitter name? I'm going to reset your Spymaster authentication information and we can try again. -
@sqfreak -
Try now. -
No help - I get the same problem (have to log in twice) on FF3.5 and Chrome 2. It works every time the second time. Very strange. -
Inappropriate? When I initially got this problem I immediately thought it must be an internet explorer issue. So I tried it on my iPhone, and I made it past Twitter but got an error once I reached Spymaster. Is it possible I am being effected by both issues?
I’m sad
-
It is possible but unlikely. What error did you get on the iPhone? If you were affected by the exploit issue, you would have been asked to revoke opt out status, not received an error. -
Inappropriate?D'oh! Turns out this was my problem after all...Just an FYI, whenever I got this "Whoa there!" error using IE, I was bumped out of Twitter too. I downloaded Firefox 3 and was able to log right in.
I’m embarrassed
-
Inappropriate? That was my problem to begin with. I wasn't sure what the heck was happening! I have tried to go thru Firefox, but then I can't even log into Twitter... they want me to sign up for an account again. Hopefully Twitter steps up & fixes the bug soon!
I’m bummed
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem as @sqfreak. Everytime I login I get the Access Denied message with a link to try again unless I was attempting something malicious. I click the link, click Allow, and it always works the second time.
Not a big deal - just annoying. Maybe because I access from multiple computers (although I always ensure I am logged into Twitter prior to trying to play).

Firefox 3.0.10
I’m unconcerned
-
Thanks. The more you guys can give me in detail about this stuff the greater chance we have of getting it solved. -
I have had this EXACT log in problem as well, even on Firefox. It takes you back to sign in screen and then lets you in. Guessing this is also a part of the WOAH problem. -
Inappropriate?OK, so I downloaded Firefox, and that resolved the access problem. Which then allowed me to gain access where we have other NEW PROBLEMS.
1. I was 300 points away from level eight, came back in to a level six.
2. Your resolution of the Swiss Bank issue left my GUARDED FUNDS unguarded, and additionally to requard them just cost me a HUGE transfer fee which I had ALREADY PAID.
3. I am down to 500K from 1.1 Billion in funds....at least $350 million of my money was won fair and square, and further, I had nothing to do with the Swiss Bank scandal, so where are my funds?
4. Because I was not able to sign on, because you left my funds unprotected, I was attacked, wounded, and lost both FUNDS and HEALTH.
Surely this is not what you call fair and equatable resolution for those of us that WERE NOT INVOLVED in the Swiss Bank Scandal? -
I'm sorry that you still feel this way, but we're doing the best we can to resolve these issues. The access problem isn't something we've been able to fix on our end and we have to talk to Twitter about it. Do you have an email address I can contact you at? -
Stop being such a whiny little bitch -
KID HASH, blow me! I take my lumps when I am wrong, and stand up when I am wronged. Curious...did your mom have kids that lived? -
Marijuana_news, please keep your discourse civil and on topic to the thread at hand. We'll get to your problem when we can, but there are lots of other issues we also have to work out. -
Curious there Eston...is some Kidhash telling me to stop being a Whiny Little Bitch on topic to the thread at hand? -
Inappropriate? You can email me at strikeforcenews@aol.com
I understand what happened, but as I have stated, I was NOT involved. Further, a great deal of my funds were earned in BATTLE, even if against roque agents. That said, ti is just not fair to make me start almost two levels back, lose a day of forward progress, and $1.1 Billion that was safely in a Swiss Account where your own rules SAY IT IS PROTECTED and SECRET. -
Inappropriate?nah, i knew i was wiped out before i did anything so it had nothing to do with reinstatement. my account had been reset to zero so after i knew that, then i found out about the explorer bug. it does work on other browsers. i saw it when it happened. it was if you guys simply pulled the plug on me, then i was zeroed, then the bug wouldn't allow me back in. that is, if it is a bug.
-
If your account has been reset, I can reinstate it. What is your Twitter username? -
Inappropriate?Every time I try to log into spymaster it sends me to accept or deny page of Twitter. I accept, proceed to login, and then it tells me that the "Directorate cannot assassinate the failwhale" I've tried it over and over again, but it is still not working I am using the current version of Firefox. It wasn't doing that this morning?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I dont want to run another browser such as firefox! and why should I? Before this all this happened, it was fine. This makes me think this more to do with what's happened than you lot obviously are aware of!. It also has the same problem in google chrome. Not impressed!
I’m pissed off
-
Inappropriate? This problem should be resolved now.
