More Date repeating options
We have a rather unusual requirement. We have things that happen "the Wednesday that's in the second full week" or "the Wednesday that follows the second Sunday of the month. Having a repeating event that happens the second Wednesday of the month catches many of these, but not others.
So, either an option to add this (admittedly obscure) type of event, or having the ability to set excluded dates so I can then add individual events for the oddball months would be great.
The exclusion thing would be a good feature no matter what, so I don't have to stop the repeating event and start it again.

yeah, i can look into this, it just makes the interface for adding repeating events a lot more complex since you need to provide checkboxes or something like that to choose all the days of the week you want it to repeat on. i'll think about if there's any way around that.

Yes, exclusions to repeating events is definitely something that I'm working to implement soon. As you said, your particular use case is a bit tricky and might not be feasible as a standard option (I'm trying to think of what the interface would be for setting that up) but exclusions would help catch the few that don't work out. In the mean time, what I'd probably do is make the first occurrence of the event non-repeating, and use the "Save as a new record" button on the editing screen of that event to save it to the right dates without having to re-enter all the other information. Still not as convenient, but should at least make it a bit easier to get a few months worth in there until the exclusions are in place. Hope this helps :)

Inappropriate?Second that as well. Would be nice to have the option to choose multiple days of the week for a repeating task. For instance, x event happens on Wednesday AND Fridays from 5:00-10:00.

Inappropriate?Personally, I think it is pretty easy to create one event for Wednesday and one for Friday and have each of them repeat. Sometimes we try to build too much in and it makes the rest of the application too clunky or confusing to others who do not need that "exception" to the norm.

Inappropriate?One more thought (ok.. 2)
First, if there is a repeat option I think might be helpful it could be a quarterly option. For instance, if you have a business meeting or class that is recurring quarterly that would be helpful, but not a huge issue since they are rare. Entering an event 4 times a year versus 1 time is pretty petty, but still... would be nice 8-)
Second, should we take this topic over to the support forums and out of the blog?
