AutoStandBy Incompatability with OS5 Verizon 9630 Tour
AutoStandBy was working great and I relied on it to be there. Updated to OS 5 on my Verizon 9639 Tour and zap it isn't working.

Whoops, forgot to reply to this thread. :(
And hi Pete. Unfortunately, the reality is that AutoStandby either no longer works (depending on your build) or has been made unnecessary on OS 5.0. RIM has actually taken the AutoStandby concept and integrated it into the OS with more recent OS 5.0 builds. Unfortunately, there are no options or configurations around it like AutoStandby had, but from what we know, OS 5.0 devices will automatically go into standby mode any time the device is locked or holstered. There is no special requirement to use the mute key to enable/disable this feature any longer as well.
We loved AutoStandby because so many of you loved it. However, we will move and and hopefully launch new apps that people find useful and enjoy.

Hi Rob,
That is correct. Unfortunately AutoStandby is not compatible with OS5. OS5 includes a new integrated AutoStandby-ish feature that disables any third party apps of that type from really working properly. -

It would be nice if we could get some help with this. ANY help. How does the integrated standby work?

So it appears the top left button now is some type of standby feature. Press it and it dims screen and appears to lock keyboard. Press it again to unlock. I prefer AutoStandby though.

As you probably are aware, AutoStandby is no longer working on the newest versions of OS 5. The reason is that RIM have changed the way that the Standby function is implemented. On 8900s and 9700s, there is a keyboard Lock button and a Standby button. RIM have now made the Lock button activate Standby as well. The Mute/Standby button is now a dedicated Mute button.
The link below gives you the CrackBerry blog on the subject. This describes the problem and give a link into the BlackBerry knowledge base. I just checked this link and whilst it once described the new functionality, the document is no longer available.

Is there anything that you can do to rectify this situation? I have come to rely on AutoStandby to allow me to be very lazy indeed when it comes to not pressing the Mute/Standby button.
Please let me know if I now need to remove your excellent program from my phone.
Kind regards
