QuickPull beta version 3.9.99.42 has been released to primarily address the issue preventing QuickPull from running totally automated on newer OS 5 builds. This update does not (and can not) address issues with "older" OS 5 builds (eg. 5.0.0.434) where QuickPull does not run at all.
See this blog post for more details: http://steelthorn.com/2010/05/new-qui...

I'm on a storm 9530 running OS 591 with BES. When I go to permissions, Security Timer Reset is locked down, thus I can't set everything to "Allow". When I click next, I get a message that says "QuickPull needs 1 additional permission to be set". Help, it seemed to work previously without everything set to allow. Thanks

No, I did not get that first message. I only got the message about additional permissions needing to be set. Thanks.

Thanks. We just pushed a new build (3.9.99.44) at the same url to hopefully resolve this issue. Let me know how that works out for you. -

I have loaded the beta on my Storm 9530 running OS .591 and I still get the message saying Quickpull wants to make changes that has buttons for "Reboot Now" and "Reboot Later", but after a few seconds the device now resets like it used to. After reboot completes, there is a message saying that Quickpull has successfully made the changes and the OK button has to be pushed to clear the message.
-
Great! The message saying changes have been successfully made is a new RIM dialog. Right now we haven't found a way to reliable bypass that automatically, so on the newer OS 5 builds it will pop up.

do I need to remove the exiting QP installation before d/l and installing this new beta release?
-
-
I just tried this QP beta release on my 9700 with os 5.0.0.545 and even with ALL the permissions set to 'Allow', it does NOT successfully reboot at a scheduled time. This is SOOO frustrating....
-
Hi there. Build 545 may still have the original bug in the OS that prevents QuickPull from working. This update can't fix that bug. RIM fixed the bug in builds around ~591+. The latest official 9700 release appears to be build 593, so you might want to upgrade to that and try it out. More info:

And yes I forgot to mention you should definitely uninstall any prior QuickPull version prior to installing this one. :)-
HORAAY! Success!
After a seriously frustrating time trying to install the recommended os upgrade - DM doesn't allow anything other than official (Propriety, Bell-sanctioned) releases to be installed - I managed to use a workaround (BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife, BBSAK) and successfully installed a leaked os version 5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147) onto my 9700, then re-installed QuickPull Beta 3.9.99.42....and EUREKA, it WORKED! Scheduled reboots now work a-ok WITHOUT user intervention. I'm a happy camper! Thanks all. (boy, was this a headache...) -

EDIT: After seeing comment below I redownloaded the beta, set it up, and then did a battery pull. I am happy to report that QuickPull does work!!!!

Also, did real battery pull after setting up on Bold 9000 OS 5.0.0.610 per other posts. Schedule restart function back operational

pkcable here from CB, can I use my 3.0 reg code? Probably gonna try it either way, can't hurt to try. ;) Also so far no luck, but I think I need to do a traditional pull first, as is sometimes the case with a fresh install of an app. :)
EDIT: Ok the real pull did the trick!!!! Now once it comes back, I'm gonna try my reg code from 3.0 ;) If not you guys gonna hook up a CB mod? ;)
EDIT: No need to hook a brother up it took my 3.0 code. :) Which I DID pay for BTW (ok OK I did get a discount ;) ) -

Running it over my official/paid more recent version of QuickPull and it works like a charm. I'm on VZW running OS version 5.0.0.591 (with official VZW patch) and it works exactly as it did prior to 5.0+ install. Looks like a solid build as far as the reset feature is concerned.

They released a wireless update patch a week or so after the official .591 OS. All I know that is different is the platform is now 4.2.0.284
-
-
VZW official (initial) release platform was 4.2.0.272 in case you were wondering. I personally didn't notice any differences with the patch but I've read it fixed a few issues (although browser click is still there for me and that's the main one that bothers me)

I haven't seen a 5.0.0.808/5.0.0.419 (Multilanguage) released or leaked. Where did you find it?

After a few reboots that made me think it was not going to work, new version is working on Verizon Tour with 5.0.0.591. Tested manual reboot, and scheduled reboot, both passed.

I loaded the beta on my Storm 9550 running OS .607 (VZW offical) and I still get the message saying Quickpull wants to make changes that has buttons for "Reboot Now" and "Reboot Later", but after a few seconds the device now resets like it used to. After reboot completes, there is a message saying that Quickpull has successfully made the changes and the OK button has to be pushed to clear the message. Will there be a build to correct this?

Using QuickPull 4.0 on Storm 1 with OS 5.0.328. QuickPull works "manually" but if I schedule a reboot, with the Storm locked and in sleep mode, it doesn't reboot. At the scheduled time, the password screen pops up and is automatically populated. That screen goes away, then comes back and it looks like the password is not fully re-entered. "Incorrect password" pops up. From there I can enter my password and then the 5 second warning screen pops up and the reboot continues. I have verified that I have correctly entered my password on the QuickPull menu. I am on a BES so there may be something blocking it there but the previous version of QuickPull on the old OS used to work (no BES changes on my end). I am happy that I can easily do a reset manually but would love to schedule an unattended reboot.

Hello, Shawn. I have submitted a bug report for the password issue in our internal system. Our developers will be working closely with that part of QuickPull to try to get the problem resolved as soon as possible. Thank you for using Steelthorn Software and I apologize for any inconvenience.-
Hi Mike. Just installed 4.03 and my issue is fixed. Thanks!

Oops, spoke to soon. I did a "bench" test of the scheduled reboot but in actual practice, when the phone has been cradled, in bedside mode and is locked, it doesn't work. When I get up, the Reboot Now / Reboot Later screen is waiting for me.

Out of curiosity, did you ever receive the following message:
"QuickPull can not aquire the required permissions listed below. This is caused by an administrative policy restricting your device (such as a BlackBerry Enterprise Server). Please contact your network administrator."
or did you only get a message about "addittional permissions to be set."?
Cheers.
