Can't remove/customize "Stories for you..." widget from the far left of the Streamy page.
Can't remove/customize "Stories for you..." widget from the far left of the Streamy page. That's lame. I don't give a flying f* about celebrity news. I don't want PerezHilton.com stories on my page.
What could make Streamy really cool would be the fact that it lets you follow your social graph and news feeds in a page that you make your own.
Well, I don't call shoving a bunch of content I care nothing about down my throat making it my own.
Boo. I was all excited, and now I'm :(

Hey all, we are aware of the quality and control issues. Our focus in the short term is going to be on the home stream there. We'll update the issue here as we release features and fixes.
In the interim, we've added an "Exclude" feature to remove sources (i.e. Celebrity garbage) from being recommended.
We do read all of these so please continue to give feedback, thanks!

Inappropriate?Agreed, seems much more logical if this section displays MY latest news subscriptions
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I think it is fine that it suggests new content, but I would like to have the option of say "no, I don't want to see anything from perez-hilton.com anymore." Such as a hide this stream button, it could even factor your dislikes into profiling you when suggesting content.
It causes me to never use the Streamy home page. I only use the sub pages for rss, twitter, facebook etc instead.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Yup. I like that.
Don't need to necessarily get rid of the stream, but please please let me _customize_ it.
Glad I'm not the only one who feels this could be improved.

Inappropriate?Yo reps, how about a response to this problem that *11* people have? Is this "suggested stories" widget somebody's sacred cow?
-
Inappropriate?Several stories come from websites I'd never visit. Two of my "suggested stories" are entirely in Japanese. Read that last sentence again. This is discouraging me from using the service.
-
Inappropriate?I totally agree here. The whole dilemma with free and easy-to-get content is having the option to edit what you want to read. I'm also getting blogs in Japanese.
Streamy will ultimately fail if they don't fix this. It's all about free choice!
Is there some sort of revenue model developing here that we should know about?
I’m very disappionted

Inappropriate? It does not solve the problem. Need that customization option.
-
Inappropriate?Right, I would like to be able to add widgets or remove the column entirely, just like the other columns.
I’m constricted
-
Inappropriate?Let me rephrase this problem...
We can't remove the column entirely! After importing all of my Google Reader subscriptions, what do I get on the home page? A bunch of crap I don't care about.
There needs to be an option to replace this "suggested for you" column with what we actually subscribe to.
As is, this makes no sense. And I don't like the attitude the company is displaying. Notice this line: "The company says this solves the problem." Also notice no one else thinks this solves the problem...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hey guys, here's the situation.
I may have tagged that as "solving" the problem prematurely. It was to say that we're going to change it and it's underway.
The issue is of the structure of the site. Those widgetized pages are anchored on the left-most streams, and the use cases associated with managing the page would be broken immediately if it were removed.
So, that means changing the structure and use cases, which is involved. We hear you and are going to make it work. Thanks :)
