Subaru won't tell me when they will fix my car.
A year past and I was still noticing the problem, so I decided to take it back in but I wanted to have someone come with me so I could demonstrate the problem. The shop foreman came with me and after telling him the symptoms he said "that sounds like what's happening with the Legacy's right now." After the drive he confirmed it was the same problem.
The problem, he said, was a "glitch" in the fuel computer and that Subaru was working on an update. Naturally, I asked for a time frame. He told me that they don't know when the update will come out. He said, "I know this is bad customer service, but call back in a month to get an update."
I thought 'surely someone at Subaru knows approximately when this update is coming out, so I called Subaru directly. I talked to a lady who didn't really seem to understand my problem, but she said someone would call me with a resolution. Another lady called me a week later and said they have no time frame on the update, and that they have "no other information at this time."
I'm frustrated. Certainly, someone knows approximately when this update is coming out, or some more details. I am stuck with a car that doesn't work properly and Subaru's only solution for me is to "call back every month." My car is still under warranty and this just doesn't seem right to me.
What can I do?
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.
