It takes nearly 5 minutes to download and apply daily updates to CounterSpy. I am also finding that trying to do anything else during this process is akin to walking through mud: slow and sloppy. Why does the update process take so long? Are there any plans to revamp the process, add an extra server to facilitate the process? Thanks!

Lack of after hour support? We have had a history of odd problems which prevent smtp mail flow (internal and external). I am currently down without any options (other than to allow a ton of SPAM through) or to wait until tomorrow at 9am. Isn't there anything that I can do?
does counterspy 2 remove viruses? the site says that you shouldn't renew subscriptions to mcaffee or symantec, that you can buy the VIPRE anti-virus when it is available. how long until this is available? what if my subscription runs out on symantec before VIPRE is available?
I am receiving the message: "Counterspy cannot run an automatic scan while the console is open." However the console is not open. The only processes running are: SBCSSvc.exe and SBCStray.exe.
Why did i get a boot-time scan when this computer was JUST reformmated yesterday and only connected to the internet for less then 4 hours behind a router and external SPI/NAT firewall??
Just reformatted computer and installed Vista Ultimate with all service packs + updates. Installed a few other programs like adobe, aim, msn live, flashplayer, and shockwave player (nothing else). Then installed zonealarm forcefield and finally counterspy v2. Did a full scan and nothing detected (obviously because it's a newly reformmated computer). This morning I installed zonealarm Internet security suite and after being prompted to reboot, CS enters the boot-time (bootup) scan and deletes a file from quarantine (which is impossible because nothing was detected yesterday evening!)
No filesharing or any downloading of any sort has occured during that time period (besides the above listed programs and possible drivers/etc. for the laptop)
Got a wierd problem between Comodo ( a firewall ) and Counterspy (anti spyware ) . At startup Counterspy prevents Comodo system tray shield from coming up . But the program is running. if I either restart the service (counterspy) or disable the protection (counterspy's) the shield comes up. any ideas?
I have just renewed my licence with order no. 080705182259300. However, when I try to activate the registration I am getting the error "activation key is invalid". The key I am using is PYYA3-GHEKX-NWW64-BY74A-PUXCC. Please advise asap.
SBRC.exe always loads at start-up and the command prompt loads at the beginning showing it doing it's job (registry cleaning).
I havnt used my computer in a month, and dont know whether this is a new feature (or maybe a new version of the program). I've never seen that file load previously since I've had this program since April 1st.
The actual program itself works great. I dont know whether I have to reinstall the program, or maybe I just need to stop SBRC.exe from starting up? Or is it a necessary file to always start on boot?
How to delete trojan? The followng file was detected - "C:\Documents and Settings\Richard Boote\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\P3AEF6MD\1215059274[1].exe." Although indicated for quarantine. it now reads as ignored. Please advise how to chnage classification and quarantine or delete. Thx. Rich

Have just installed Counterspy this is the first download
I have had CounterSpy for a few months now. Since yesterday afternoon, it will scan upto the middle of my files and then STOP. It shuts the whole scanning process OFF then it shuts CounterSpy OFF. It ask to send error and I do but it continues each time I run a scan.
I try to download the most recent updates, and I get a messge "warning, there was an error downloading the files." I have version 2.5.1043 with the 835 definitions version. What should I do?
When I start a security file definitions update, it goes verrrry slowly, and ultimately hangs after about 20 minutes. It takes Task Manager to end it. Can you help, please?
Yesterday, when I attempted to open counterspy, it hung on the loading common libraries. Did an uninstall/reinstall, and this definitions update problem began when I first attempted to bring CounterSpy back up to current versions. V 2.5.1032, definitions 569
Whenever I try to do anything with CounterSpy (i.e. load the program, do a scan, perform manual updates) it repeatedly says "Please wait while Windows configures Sunbelt CounterSpy". I can cancel out of the multiple load bars to get into it but it is very annoying. It has only started doing this in the last few weeks. I am running Vista and my CounterSpy version is 2.5.1043
I have downloaded Counter Spy 3 different times and each time I have tried to get it to install I get an error message stating that error 1720 there is a problem with this windows installer package. A script required for this install could not be run. Contact your support personnel or oackage vendor. custom action setexistingproduct script error - 2147024770; line ... (and that is where it ends) when I called Sun they sent me some link but it was for windows xp or something becausee wouldnt work with their link either.
hi, i got an extremely annoying problem with personal firewall + mass effect (the game) ... after maybe an hour of playing, kpf starts interfering in a very annoying way, dropping me out of the game every few moments with a "can't connect to service" error popup. i even re-installed the whole system, to no avail.
edit: btw, i'm using both kpf and cs for a long time now, and deployed it to all our mobile users at the company too - first time i run into a problem like this.
ps. when the mentioned issue arises, i cannot even stop the kpf service anymore, plus, kpf kind of goes into a "lock down" mode barring all network communication for good.
Since I've had CounterSpy, after each scan I've removed all detected risks. For the past two weeks, all I've been able to do is quarantine them. When I try to remove them, I get an error message that says: Security Risk Cleaning Failed...please rescan machine.
