Evaluating VIPRE Enterprise. Mail client Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2003
With 'Email protection on desktops' enabled i am unable to send an attachment from outlook. Is there a way to alter this? I need to have Outlook messages and attachments scanned but also have to be able to send attachments.
Are there more settings available per policy or is it simply on or off?
I upgraded to the latest version (3.x) of CounterSpy yesterday. After the files have been installed on the computer, I am taken to the dialog box with a title "CounterSpy Settings Wizard". The first dialog box is subtitled "Welcome to the CounterSpy Setup Wizard" Immediately after the dialog box appears, I get an error message dialog box that reads:
\\RMP.htm is not accessible
The network path was not found
On this error dialog box I press the OK command button. I then hit the Next command button.
The next dialog box that is subtitled "Internet Access and Proxy Servers". I do not use a proxy server, so I press the Next command button. A error dialog box named "Counterspy AntiSpyware" appears with the message:
"The parameter was incorrect"
I press the OK command button on this error message dialog and then press Next.
I am then automatically taken to the dialog box subtitled "Update Now and Automatic Updates" I press the command button labeled "Check For Updates" The dialog box labeled "CounterSpy Update Progress" appears. I have left this dialog box up for several minutes and nothing (according to the progress bar) is being downloaded.
If I cancel the update and "Next" my way through the rest of the dialog boxes, I am told, when holding my cursor over the CounterSpy icon in the task tray, that CounterSpy is not running.
I have tried rebooting the system and have turned off all possible running processes.
I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling the product.

Your response there stated that the next version would block all reported issues.
Did you manage to do that?
have computer getting an error on lspcs.dll, multiple programs.
how do I disable, am unable to end all of the programs and this has affected my ability to access email and unternet
Had VIPRE working good, but now I am having problem auto updating defs, I should say the first time the program will auto update but it checks a second time in two hours it gives me a error about a problem with internet connection? Then it goes to manual update.
Second problem: Download speed is very slow, 11 kB/s. Is this me or you?
I had a valid Counter Spy key, good until March 2009. I removed CS so I could download Viper. After trying Viper I removed it as it crashed my pc. Now I reinstalled Counter Spy but it won't activate when I enter my key.
What do you suggest I do to get CS running again? Do i need a new key?
This is the third time I have tried to ask this question because clicking on your possible answers, as opposed to proper support that would allow me to talk to someone, results in having to start all over again. Ridiculous and very frustrating.
My problem is that the installation stalls at update software and consequently fails to insatll properly so a subsequent reboot brings you back to update software. I do not want Vipre as I have Computer Associates Anti - Virus software which is recently paid for. I need specific help with this not some vague fob off from the examples below this box.
Counter Spy has detected 'Trojan.TDSServ'. I have asked that it be removed. It states that it has, but when another scan is run, the same trojan shows up. What do I do?
First Vipre killed my computer because of incompatibilities with Drivecrypt (masterboot record destroyed, then I used the old counterspy 2.0, which worked fine in the past on my maschine. Problem is that version 2 can not be updated anymore with new definitions, so I had to upgrade to counterspy 3.0. The result were many bluesreens. The I connected this computer to my home network and I recognized (as many other users) that I can not see my and the other computers in the network neighborhood. The reason was Sunbelts Personel Firewall. Solution: for all problems: I stopped using any Sunbelt software and installed my old Kerio Firewall (4.2.2.911). All problems are gone now. The only bad thing is that I spent money for all the three programs. Sunbelt gave me a refund for the vipre. Would be nice to give me also for counterspy and the firewall the money back. The old Kerio Firewall (like the old Tiny Firewall) works great! Kind regards, Rainer
Just upgraded to Counterspy 3.1 last week. I have scheduled a full scan every night. Each morning when I click the icon to view scan results, a box pops up indicating that Counterspy is looking for updates. However, it never gets anywhere, no matter how long I leave it open. I always end up canceling the update and viewing my scan results. The main screen in Counterspy indicates that it is being updated somehow. Definitely not a huge problem, but it is an annoyance. Any suggestions?
I had version 2x running and had paid for a two year extension. A few weeks later (Sept 24th)m I decided to go ahead and upgrade to version 3. After i downloaded and installed I discovered that I had lost all of my previously paid subscription. Whats worse, I had to rummage around on my drive to find the activation / serial that I had before, then when I tried to pay for another extension, your site took my money but still won't extend my service, and I cannot get CounterSpy to run now!

PS This is a Windows 2000 box... Also PS: when I tried to buy an upgrade extension tonight, I paid for TWO more years and still cannot get it to work at all!
There's nothing in the quarantine section after a scan is completed. It says that the action taken was to put the infected files in quarantine but I can't take any action against the threats found. What am i supposed to do
