I have now been without VIPRE for two weeks since version 3.1.2315 released. I have been unable to us Thunderbird e-mail on three different PCs. Earlier version worked fine. Have uninstalled VIPRE and am now using AVG Free until a fix is found. Contacted tech support and they could offer no solutions except to WAIT for a new release. Not a good answer. Something has been wrong between VIPRE and Thunderbird for some time it seems. I have had issues even while beta tesing.
I believe there are many users out there who are just as frustrated as I am.
Any help would be appreciated as I really don't want to scrap VIPRE. The problem appears to be mostly with XP machines and I have VIPRE 3.1.2315 on a Vista PC and it works fine.
Just upgraded to Counterspy 3.1 last week. I have scheduled a full scan every night. Each morning when I click the icon to view scan results, a box pops up indicating that Counterspy is looking for updates. However, it never gets anywhere, no matter how long I leave it open. I always end up canceling the update and viewing my scan results. The main screen in Counterspy indicates that it is being updated somehow. Definitely not a huge problem, but it is an annoyance. Any suggestions?
Counter Spy has detected 'Trojan.TDSServ'. I have asked that it be removed. It states that it has, but when another scan is run, the same trojan shows up. What do I do?
Installed purchased version of VIPRE and now my computer is very slow at login. It actually never gets to my Desktop and is very sluggish...like it's locked up. I also have Personal Firewall v 4.6.1845.0 installed. If I disable the SBAMSvc.exe service, I am able to get logged in and to my Desktop.
An unexpected problem has occurred (Failed to get msginfo on message id 1_33395_AMPOjkQAARrvSN5NygrF7QuiRNo).
Please help me. I renewed my subscription and it was working fine and then all of a sudden, i got this message because i saw a blacked out counterspy icon saying that it was not running at all. When I right click on the icon, it says Counterspy service is not running. Then it says to start the service and when I click on that, it says it can't start it and to reboot my computer. I've done that so many times and still nothing.
Thank you.
When I installed VIPRE, I was told by the installation sequence that I had Ad Aware installed on my computer, so I was advised to not enable VIPRE's Active Protection. I know I uninstalled Ad Aware a long time ago, so I enabled VIPRE's Active Protection. Now my computer is running very slowly due to VIPRE (SBAMSvc.exe) continually using 18%-45% of CPU resources.
I turned to VIPRE to decrease the problems of heavy CPU usage.
How can I get rid of all traces of Ad Aware OR how can I get VIPRE to not use so many resources?
after installing spf 4.6 (over 4.5 or first uninstall 4.5 + reboot, doesn't matter) i get a bluescreen after the bootscreen, right befor the wellcome/logonscreen should apear, saying that the winlogon service was terminated unexpexted and the system shut off. i'm using win xp home sp2 (up to date, but without sp3). with spf 4.5 everything's fine.

I run the .exe file downloaded from the site. I've purchased the home licence. I've installed it on two machines so far with no issue, but on this machine (XP SP3), it tries to unpack, and then a windows installer box pops up with command line arguments in it, and that's it. I can't find any way to extract the .msi and run msiexec from the command line either. Help!
After Vipre is installedI can no longer use our VPN to connect to our MS Exchange server, IE 7.0, or our remote control software(both pcAnywhere and VNC). The remote control software will authenticate but will not progress from there.

On July 26th I purchased the Viper upgrade for my existing Counter Spy.
Order No: 080726111143094
Jul 26, 2008 11:11AM $9.95
I downloaded and installed it, but it says ‘Subscription Invalid’ and is
asking for the Activation Key.
Can you tell me where to find this.
Last time when I purchased Counter Spy, the ‘Registration Key’ was included in the Email Purchase Confirmation, but this time it wasn’t included in the Viper Upgrade Email Confirmation.
I’ve tried logging into my Sunbelt Account and although I can find the Order Details, I still can’t find anything to give me the Activation Key.
Viper has uninstalled my Counter Spy, which still had 8 months subscription left on it, so now I have no protection. Have I lost the remaining 8 months subscription that was on my Counter Spy as a result of upgrading to Viper?
I have been emailing you since July asking you to help me with this, and have had absolutely no response.
I am very disappointed, not to mention angry, to be left in this sitution, with even the courtesy of a response from you.
I've now spent $19.95 in April 08 on Counter Spy (Order No: 080411010944473), plus $9.95 in July 08 (Order No: 080726111143094) on the Viper upgrade, and am left with nothing!
I have recently installed SPF and am trying to learn to use it so this is probably a really simple issue; it is installed in Simple Mode. I am using Outlook Express for email and NOD32 Antivirus. When I open Outlook Express, the attempt by NOD32 to integrate with it is blocked by SPF (Code Injection blocked). How can I permit NOD32 to integrate with Outlook Express?
I just purchased the VIPRE upgrade for my CounterSpy, downloaded and installed VIPRE, and now I have Vipre which says I have no subscription. Plus, my counterspy is gone, and I uninstalled my Norton AV. Now I am unprotected, and can't get VIPRE to work. I tried my CounterSpy Reg Key, but it won't work.
I just tried to download V2 and was advised to uninstall my version of counterspy, I followed the advise and expected the wizard to install V2, but this did not happen. So I am not protected by counterspy.
How can I Re-install counterspy as I do not have disk.
Cheers,
Bill Craven
Connection denied to the scan engine. You may be running a scheduled scan. This is the message that I get every time I try to start Counterspy V2. It was fine yesterday. Can you help?
My counter spy version 2.1.946 risk definitions are out of date. I try to update and I am unable to apply software updates ... my supscription start date was 2/16/2007 and doesnot run out until 2/16/2009. Why is this happening?
