BSOD with SPF 4.6.1861 referencing sbhips.sys
I received a BSOD which referenced sbhips.sys - I am running Win XP SP3 with all patches up-to-date. I was accessing a file on a TrueCrypt encrypted USB drive volume at the time.

Inappropriate?I have this problem too. On contacting Sunbelt directly, the 'solution' apparently is to disable HIPS. If we were to apply this kind of logic to everything.. then the solution to a broken lock on your front door... would be to.. well.. not bother having a front door! Problem solved!
It's about time somebody got their fingers out and addressed this issue in the proper manner.
Oh.. and I'd tell you 'how this makes be feel' - but unfortunately you don't have a face icon contorted with rage and expelling steam from its ears.

Yeah Darren I received your email complaint regarding this problem.
I think the reason behind Sunbelt asking me to disable HIPS on my firewall was because my Avast antivirus software was also protecting my pc from Code Injection - so there was a software conflict. I have not had problem since I disabled that part of my firewall and GRC.COM still says my ports are stealthed and all seems ok. (fingers crossed) -
I'm glad that you were able to identify the problem. I was just annoyed that I was told to disable HIPS - with no mention of any further investigation into the root cause. I've now received assurances that they will try to identify the conflicting driver.. so hopefully, we can get to the bottom of my problem too.
Cheers

Inappropriate?I had the same BSOD problem and also use AVAST antivirus as well as superantispyware. SUNBELT told me to disable both of those to see if that stopped the BSOD. Well, what point is there in having to eliminate your antivirus and antispyware programs just so you can run their firewall software?
