What version of Windows are you running, and which Service Pack?
( 2000, XP, Vista)
What version of iHateSpam are you running, version 4 or 5?
What email program and version are you running?
(Click on Help / About, within Outlook, Outlook Express)

Since you are using Microsoft's Outlook you will want to upgrade to the latest version of iHateSpam, version 5. Please follow the instructions below to upgrade.
1. Please click on the following link to run the iHateSpam 5 installer package. http://go.sunbelt-software.com/?linki... When it asks you if you want to run or save, please choose save. Please save the file to your desktop.
2. Once the file is done downloading, please double click on the file on your desktop marked "iHateSpam-V5-Outlook."
3. You will first receive a window that says "Welcome to the iHateSpam for Microsoft Outlook Setup Wizard."
4. You should also receive a message that says, "Sunbelt iHateSpam 4.0.XXX is installed on your system. You must Manually uninstall that version before proceeding." Please note that this is completely normal. Please press 'OK' and then click 'Finish' on the iHateSpam installer window.
5. You will now get a warning message that says, "Setup has failed. If the problem persists, please contact Product Support." Again, this is normal, and click 'OK.'
6. Click 'start' and then 'run.' In the space provided, please type "appwiz.cpl" and then hit 'OK.'
7. You should now receive a window that says " Add or Remove Programs." Please find "iHateSpam" on the list and then hit 'remove.'
8. Please follow the prompts to remove iHateSpam.
9. Please double click on the file on your desktop marked "iHateSpam-V5-Outlook."
10. You will now receive a window that says "Welcome to the iHateSpam for Microsoft Outlook Setup Wizard." Click 'Next.'
11. Click on the option that says "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" and then click 'Next.'
12. Click on the button that says 'Install.'
13. Once the setup wizard has finished, please click on the 'Finish' button.
14. Once this is done, please open your copy of outlook.
15. You will receive an error message that says "The add-in 'C:\program files\sunbelt software\iHatespam\ihsMAPI.dll' could not be installed or loaded." This is normal, and hit 'OK.' You should no longer receive this message.
16. Welcome to iHateSpam 5! Your registration key and your Friends list should already be installed on this new version of iHateSpam.
