CounterSpy Setup Error: \\RMP.htm is not accessible
I upgraded to the latest version (3.x) of CounterSpy yesterday. After the files have been installed on the computer, I am taken to the dialog box with a title "CounterSpy Settings Wizard". The first dialog box is subtitled "Welcome to the CounterSpy Setup Wizard" Immediately after the dialog box appears, I get an error message dialog box that reads:
\\RMP.htm is not accessible
The network path was not found
On this error dialog box I press the OK command button. I then hit the Next command button.
The next dialog box that is subtitled "Internet Access and Proxy Servers". I do not use a proxy server, so I press the Next command button. A error dialog box named "Counterspy AntiSpyware" appears with the message:
"The parameter was incorrect"
I press the OK command button on this error message dialog and then press Next.
I am then automatically taken to the dialog box subtitled "Update Now and Automatic Updates" I press the command button labeled "Check For Updates" The dialog box labeled "CounterSpy Update Progress" appears. I have left this dialog box up for several minutes and nothing (according to the progress bar) is being downloaded.
If I cancel the update and "Next" my way through the rest of the dialog boxes, I am told, when holding my cursor over the CounterSpy icon in the task tray, that CounterSpy is not running.
I have tried rebooting the system and have turned off all possible running processes.
I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling the product.
Here are a few details about this computer:
Windows 2000 Professional (Build 2195: Service Pack 4)
1 GB of Memory
AMD Athlon(tm) processor - 1400 MHz
Thanks for any help you may give me...

Inappropriate?Hey RFSharpe,
Thanks for posting. I think it would be best to do a clean uninstall/reinstall of CounterSpy. Uninstall CounterSpy by using the Add/Remove programs located under the Control Panel. Just follow the directions below:
1. Click on the Start menu and click on “Control Panel”
2. Double-click “Add or Remove” Programs
3. Find “CounterSpy” in the list and click on it
4. Choose “Remove” or "Change" if remove is not available.
4. Restart your computer
6. Use the following link to reinstall CounterSpy:
http://go.sunbeltsoftware.com/?linkid...
7. Click on Download CounterSpy.
8. Choose Run and the install will start right after the file is downloaded.
** Make sure to disable any other security software’s active protection while running CounterSpy or this may cause a conflict, too.
If you have any further problems please feel free to contact our support team at support@sunbelt-software.com or by Phone at 1-877-673-1153 M-F 9am-6pm EST and we will have someone work directly with you. Please reference ticket id 001-00-245081
