Counterspy won't run updates

For quite some time, when I try to run Updates, I get a message that says it is unable to download, please try again later. I have version 2.1.917 - Definition version 831. Just now, on Startup, Windows gave me an error message telling me to upgrade Counterspy, but I cannot - help! I have Windows XP Pro.

Also, Countersply has stopped running programmed scans more recently.

I have gone through the Knowledge base - my problem is not there. I have looked on Counterspy Home page, but it only talks about upgrading from Version 1 - I have Version 2.1.917.

If I have to Uninstall, then re-install, will I lose my current subscription I have already paid for? I will need complete instructions on how to do this. TY!
